For those who are purchasing holiday gifts for your boss or direct supervisor. What are you getting?
DH's direct supervisor has been an awesome "boss" so far. He's been so accommodating with paternity leave and time off with a recent health issue.
Anyway, I'm thinking of getting him a gift set of artisan balsamic vinaigrette and olive oil locally made. Then maybe some homemade baked goods.
Anyone else gifting supervisors? What are you gifting?

@regberadaisy: that sounds like a great gift! Might use it next year. I'm always at a loss of what to give my boss (and his wife). This year I'm getting an engraved cutting board with their name. In the past, I've done nice steaks and once a nice throw blanket.

@Amelieisme: yeah this place makes *really* awesome balsamic vinegar and olive oil. We've gotten them as gifts and we only use them when we make dips for bread. It's that kinda special!

My office has a policy of not "gifting up." So you can get a gift for your secretary (within a small dollar limit) but not your boss. But if I were, I think food gifts are nice and love the Harry and David pears.

@rachiecakes: They refill their own bottles too! If you go in the store, you can sample all sorts of combinations! Another interestingly good one is tuscan herb oil with white peach balsamic. Dark chocolate balsamic and blood orange oil is too! Mmmm!!

We used to have a home up there, still love to visit and go at least a half dozen times a year. We'll be visiting soon.

@rachiecakes: We've seen DMB at SPAC a couple of times It's such a cute area up there! Saratoga Winery is another fun place to visit!!
