We had our LO in a shirt style bodysuit and a pair of chinos. Comfortable but a little dressier than his everyday wear.

We dressed him in a cotton button-down plaid shirt and cords (it was fall though), and changed him into a stripey cotton long-sleeve shirt for his cake smash (it matched the cake).
