Liam was breech until 37 weeks, I think. He flipped late! I have a long torso, so I think that's why he had the room to flip. I also have a friend who had a baby that flipped late, too. 38 weeks, I think.

not to be a debbie downer but I had a frank breach at 32 weeks with a wedged in baby who did not budge one little bit, and ended up with a c-section. We tried ECV and spinning bbabies, nothing worked. Upside was the c-section was totally fine and we were discharged after 32 hours.

I'm in the same boat as you... following I thought I would mention it so you knew at the very least you weren't alone. Come on babies flip!

My breech baby never turned despite trying an ECV. He was super wedged in there. Hoping yours does but it was no big deal to have a c-section in the end.

My doula said that there's no need to even consider positioning until 36 weeks--that's when they start to run out of room!

My LO was always breech (detected at 28 weeks he was never a big mover). He didn't flip! We ended up with a c-section at 39 weeks.

I don't have first hand experience, but my accupuncturist said she has turned a few babies and often gets referrals from the hospital, she seems to have a good success rate from what she tells me. Might be something to look into.

My baby flipped head down and then flipped up again. She stayed breech and her head was up in my ribs. She would face my back and stick her bottom out. I ended up with a csection at 38 weeks.

DS was breeched until 37 weeks. He did a quick flip just in time for me to go into labor at 38 weeks

My midwife said not to bother trying anything before 35-36 weeks as they can still change so easily, especially 2nd babies as they have to get quite big before space gets tight.

You still have time! A lot of babies flip late.

My DS was frank breech the entire pregnancy and never ended up turning. He was literally wedged in there - poor guy had no room. I ended up getting a scheduled csection 2 days before my due date. I declined having the ECV procedure done because I didn't feel comfortable with it.

I also have a long torso, but he still did not flip.

@NurseDMB: what did you not feel comfortable about with the ECV? Are there risks involved?

LO was breech from around 27-28 weeks and stayed that way till my c section at 38 weeks. Turns out the cord was wrapped around her neck twice (I know it's common and usually not a problem, but that was the likely reason she didn't budge and an ECV attempt could have gone emergency pretty quickly). I could see her head pushing out at the top of my belly towards the end.

Both of mine were breech until I think 35 weeks? I tried spinning babies and I guess it helped because they flipped.

That sounds like my oldest who was folded in half in my belly for some time, I think, because when he came out his legs were kind of weird looking and going in all directions! LOL! They said it's normal given how he was in my belly - kind of jack-knifed! He never ended up flipping. I just figured he was comfy so he stayed that way.

There are exercises you can do to help him flip. Ask your OB. You're still a little early to do an ECV (usually done around 35 weeks at the latest, I think) but that's usually high risk and has to be done at the hospital in case you go into labor while getting it done. That made my decision easy so I went with a c-section and read up as much as I can about it since I paid zero attention to the c-section part of our 6 hour long class. :\ Anyway, he's 5.5 now and wild as can be.

@Kemma: ah right, maybe that is why it was never mentioned to me, I'm in England, maybe we have similar stats.

@Snowdrop: @Snowdrop: I think the risk for things like that are low here as well. The premature labor may also be caused by contractions or other things past the cord. I think it's a pretty low risk, but one to consider. I'm on the fence as to whether we would have one done. My OB is a pretty straight shooter, so I'll likely just do whatever he recommends!

A was breech and never flipped so I had a c-section at 40 weeks. I didn't attempt an ECV but did try moxi sticks from my acupuncturist that made my house smell like a drug den It didn't work but we didn't try much because of the smell.
