That cold and fever LO had last week? Ended up being bronchialitis and we are on day 3 of hospital stay. She is off oxygen and holding her own, so we probably get to go home.
Can I just say- WTH?! I never knew there were so many ways a kid could get sick! When I was a kid, I either had a 'cold' or the 'flu', none of the fancy stuff my kid gets. Lol.

Sorry to hear this - my DD caught the same thing last year when she was 3 months and we also had a 4 day hospital stay. Worst days of my life - but she got better

We just got home from a hospital stay for the same thing. It was terrifying but we are on day 10 and he's almost back to normal. Our doc said days 5-6 are the worst.

@T-Mom: @Chastenet: so we ended up with a 6 day hospitalization before she recovered. They told us she may be vulnerable for the rest of the season. Did you guys experience additional respiratory issues?

@lizzywiz: I'm glad she was released and is doing better. My daughter didn't have any further issues. I think she has probably had 2-3 colds in the past year since she had bronchialitis...I would consider that pretty normal. We were in France when it happened and she was given respiratory physical therapy treatments for 1 week after being released. It's pretty impressive, the therapist basically compresses your LOs chest to help expel any phlegm that's stuck in the bronchioles. If you're worried about it lingering, maybe you could see if that sort of treatment could help?

@lizzywiz: I'm sorry to say that my DS seems to be pre-asthmatic... He wheezes about 1/3 of the time he gets a cold.. So it's not terrible and I know to start him on his treatment right away. I don't know if it's really as a result of the bronchiolitis or just because he is prone to the breathing issues for whatever reason... So sorry to hear you guys were in the hospital for so long...
