I'm READY. Summer time just does not apply to me this year. I'm working all day. I'm too large to enjoy swimming and therefore being outside on weekends is just sweaty hell.

Bring on the cold weather and Xmas time. Plus LO is turning 1 the day before Thanksgiving! I'm very excited.

LOL!! I like to think about Christmas gifts all. year. long. It helps when December 20th comes around and I'm not running around like a chicken buying things that are overpriced. Ha!

Nope, not on my radar yet. I refuse to seriously think about Christmas until after July (and then I'm ALL about it, I love Christmas, I just want Halloween and Thanksgiving to have their moment to shine, especially since the latter is my fave holiday).

I do, however, try to buy gifts throughout the year, so i'm not doing it all at once.

For now, though, E's first birthday is the only thing on my radar!

I can't wait!!

DS will be 2 (!!) 12/17. When I was expecting him in 2011, I would get so excited when I saw Christmas decorations going up in October. And when I heard the first holiday song on the radio. And the red cups at Starbucks!

@Adira: Same here. Halloween is big in this house!

@NaturallyCathy: @Dandelion: Oh my gosh, I cannot even BEGIN to tell you how excited I was when we moved into our house that I would actually have trick-or-treaters!!! And then we only got like 12. Womp womp.

Every year Hubs and I throw a big Halloween party though. I'm not sure what we'll do this year now that we have Xander. Maybe we'll have to do a day party and invite kids...

@NaturallyCathy: Hmmm... I'll probably decide when it gets closer to October. I know some of my friends can't make it to my parties anymore because they have kids and don't have local family to babysit for them. And my family's an hour away, so not exactly convenient for baby-sitting. I'll have to just see if I'm in the mood for an adult party or not, haha. The last one ended up being NOT as much fun because I was pregnant and couldn't drink and being around drunk people when you're sober is just not much fun.

@Dandelion: I was confused too and thought she had it backwards! We put UP our tree after Thanksgiving and take it DOWN around New Year's. But we get a real tree, so there's no storing it in the attic or anything.

Before I had a baby I always hated mention of Christmas early and never understood those Christmas stores but now I am so excited I can't stand it!

@Adira: Yeah, we get a real one, too...maybe that's why I was confused.

I'm a little bummed out about Christmas this year, but thankfully, I have DS to still make it exciting.

Zulily had Christmas decor stuff today and I was like WHAAA!?!?

I personally LOVE Christmas - love the whole holiday season - but I agree it is way too early to think about right now.

We are getting a real tree for the first time this year, though, so I'm pumped about that. (First time as a couple. We always had real trees growing up.)

@Dandelion: Do your take DS with you when you get a real tree? My parents always did that with me and I love that tradition! Although I do remember some years it was FREEZING and I was like "Just pick a tree already so we can goooooo!"

@Smurfette: Hubs is the same way - he always says he doesn't want anything. And that's why he always gets clothes for Christmas. I'm actually nervous about what people are going to get Xander. I really don't want a zillion toys... but I think some people will just get whatever they want to get him. Ugh. I hope people ASK me what I want them to get. But I'm pretty sure they won't since Hubs' family tends to just buy US random gifts we don't want, so they'll probably do the same with Xander.

@Smurfette: I guess I have it easy. Hubs HATES going shopping, so he's always in need of new clothes, so that's what he gets from me and my family! My mom once said that besides herself and my dad, Hubs is the only other person she buys clothes for!

@Dandelion: LOL - OMG, you kill me! You don't go out and cut down your own tree?? hahahaha, too funny!

I think it's crazy they are already preparing for Halloween at the stores! I love the fall/winter holiday's though and can't wait...but let's focus on back to school first
