We have the option to do a cake smash shoot with a friend who is taking some 1 year photos of LO. I'm torn on whether or not to do the cake smash (which would be in addition to doing outdoor photos of a more "lifestyle" nature).
If you did cake smash photos, do you love them? Do you think they're worth having? I know they usually come out SO cute, but I don't know if they're something we really need...

i think cake smash photo shoots are freaking adorable. but, with that said, we decided not to do one because we wanted his true cake smash at his party to be his first experience so everyone could see his genuine reaction.

we did an at home cake smash. I was thinking of getting a photographer to take super cute pictures but then I thought of all the things I could do with the money we would have given the photographer.

We just did a quick one at the end of his 1 year photos. I don't know if I would have had a photo shoot just for a cake smash, but they did turn out cute. And we had his pics done the week after his party, so he had already done his real cake smash then.

If you're already doing a photo shoot, I would just add it in there (: who wouldn't love to look at a baby with cake all over their face? Plus, babies look cute EVERY time they have food all over them (: I don't think doing it before hand will take away from the cuteness if you let them dig into their actual birthday cake on the big day too (:

I love seeing cake smash photos, but I didn't do one for LO. I let him enjoy his first cake experience at his birthday party. He had a birthday brownie on his actual birthday.
