There's a couple around the corner that likes their music LOUD. We try to ignore it when they blast their sound system around 10:30 at night, but I don't think I'll tolerate it when we have a LO around. They installed outdoor speakers near their pool last year and last night I woke up to their booming bass and a pool party at 2 am, so that was the last straw...I called the cops on their behinds.

Our neighbors are like four guys living together and they always have people over. R's room is on the side of the house that is next to them and their deck. So afraid they will wake her up one night.

We live in a really large housing plan. There are two teenage drivers (one has a red car, another green) with sound systems so loud that I've had pictures fall off my wall before when they drive past. It's ridiculous. we FINALLY figured out where the driver of the green car lives.
He woke Chloe up last night, and I'm so to the point of knocking on his parents door and saying something.
And I'm not above adding a "ps: sound systems are SO 1996."

2am is INSANE. What is wrong w ppl?! I even get annoyed when ppl are being loud at 8pm since LO goes to bed so early!!

Do you have a city noise ordinance? Ours is 10pm- I have teenagers next door who like to have lots of friends over, and you can bet that if they're being excessively loud past that I will tell them to keep it down (I feel so old but seriously, sleep is no joke when you have a baby!) -
Great job. I'm always too chicken to call, so I just grumble and don't sleep!

Nice! Luckily, I've never been in tht situation, but I have been tempted to call animal control on my parents neighbor! Their dog is always barking!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: It makes me think of when surround sound was the big thing back in the day! Every Wednesday or Thursday night at 10:30 they turn up whatever movie they're watching and you can hear it for blocks.

Good! Your noise doesn't suddenly stop traveling at your fence. I hate incosiderate people. I wouldn't mind if people told me in advance that they were going to be having a party so I could plan to be somewhere else if I wanted to be. At the same time there is a noise level that is just, well, rude.
My neighbors always turn the sound and bass up in their truck so much that it rattles my windows every time they are in the car. Sometimes they will just sit there for a few minutes, I guess to finish the song... it has woken Mr. Hedgie up and he isn't a light sleeper. Unfortunately it doesn't last long enough to call the cops. They wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

@spaniellove: right? My husband said he had one in his car in 98. My neighbors kids are definitely not playing the kind of music meant for systems. Or maybe we are old and the kind of music you're supposed to play has changed!
I swear to god I heard "call me maybe" playing today.

@spaniellove: my next door neighbors are total party animals, so I get ya on the annoyance front. It's the teenage drivers and their systems that drive me bonkers, though. Like if your car is drivin down the street and the system is so loud that it knocks pictures off my walls and shatters the glass, we've got problems.
Buty next door neighbors.. They're my parents age, and have kids in high school and college. They also have a pool. The kids throw parties all summer long, and it tends to die down around 1am-ish & they're definitely more conscientious now that they know we have a kid. The only thing that REALLY irritates me is that they set off a lot of fire works in the summer and our houses are reaaallllyyy close together. We've had shells land on our roof and our cars, and I've had one hit me on the head before. My husband ran through the yard screaming, and he isn't the type to raise his voice. Now they set the fireworks off in the opposite direction. Big whoop-- it's still a huge hazard!!!
