If people buy other items the same time as registry items they show up on your list.

@anonysquire: no problem! it's kind of handy because if someone is like, "oh! I'm going to buy the tub and fill it with odds and ends!" other people can see that those items are bought - whether you registered for them or not - before they try the same idea.

I think it helps with returns, too - at least at babies r us, they were able to track every purchase that used my rewards card (which was on my registry). so if someone bought a bunch of random things and didn't give me a gift receipt, and didn't have my registry scanned, I was kind of out of luck - I'd have to try to return somewhere without a receipt. But say they bought random things at BRU but had them scan my registry, all those items would show up and make it a snap for me to exchange or return.

@anonysquire: bahaha so true. funny story, my aunt picked up a few things for my shower and they went through on my registry. but she shopped EARLY - so when I logged into my BRU rewards account to find a receipt, I didn't realize at that point that I would see the receipt from her purchase too since she used my rewards card! so I got all excited thinking i was getting a $50 gift card too - and never got it. I found out through random conversations that she'd bought another person a baby gift at the same time (the gc). so lesson learned - make separate transactions if you're buying more than only the registrant's gifts!! ahhaha.
