Just attempted to hang a shower curtain with LO in the floor with toys. He screamed the whole time! It was affecting my concentration so I just gave up! He really hates loud or unusual noises and doesn't like to play by himself! He plays by himself in the living room frequently but only when he can see me! In the kitchen he is alright, but only if he can see what I am doing and there are no noises. He can't stand being left in his jumparoo I think because he can't see what I am doing! He'll be 11 months next week.

LO will tolerate me vacuuming if I wear her while I do it. At first the noise scares her and then it makes her fall asleep.

I can wash the dishes and vacuum (he is obsessed with the vacuum) but I try to save folding laundry and cleaning with any chemicals for when he is asleep. DS is 9.5 months and can entertain himself for a few minutes but most of the time I need to be in his sight

Mine likes to be plopped in her crib to stare at her mobile. She loves those damn animals. I can do anything as long as she's happy in there. Eventually the squeals get kind of frantic sounding and then she cries because she gets bored. Or the animals stop moving and I have to turn them on again.
I"m hoping this just means she really digs independent play and she stays like this!

There are a few chores I can get done while wearing her, like dusting, sweeping, washing dishes and general straightening up. Just about the only thing I can do while she is awake and I am not wearing her is folding clothes...which I do sometimes during tummy time!

@lilyann: laundry is like the only thing I can do while he's awake! Of course he does get into the piles! But at least it is fun for him!
Vacuuming is a big NO. I can't even use the blender! I have to make smoothies in the bathroom lol!

She will let us vacuum but only because she likes loud noises, for now. We're going through a clingy stage so, it's tough to get anything done unless I'm holding her. I try hard to distract her with toys or other things but a few minutes after she gets started playing...she realizes I'm not attached to her and cries. My house is a disaster.

@Mrs. Sketchbook: haha, maybe I save the laundry for later to give DH a guilt trip because 90% of it is either DS's or DH's and we both work full time out of the home yet I always get stuck doing the laundry! Grr!
Too funny about the vacuum/blender and making smoothies in the bathroom!! I used the vacuum to get DS to nap when he was an infant, nothing else worked!

I wear my baby for chores. And my toddler likes to help so I just get her involved, even if that means it takes 2x as long to do stuff.

Yup, I just swiffered the kitchen, dining room and living room, swept the basement stairs and vacuumed the first floor. She just played. I sometimes feel guilty doing housework when she is awake though.

Yep LO self entertains easily so I do lots when he's awake. I just vacuum around him

We are going through a clingy stage, so eventhough he plays by himself, he wants me to watch him play. It's weird.

I put him in his exersaucer for vacuuming and he haaaaates it. I can do dishes and laundry. That's about it.

I can do the dishes, vacuum, tidy up...anything but fold the laundry! Her favorite thing to do is unfold clothes lol
