I have a 3D ultrasound this week and am dying to find out the gender (we'll also have blood work done too, which will reveal it a week or so later, but I'd love to find out then and there). Anyone know?

14 weeks technically you should be able to, but I think for accuracy they say 15 weeks is much better.

I don't trust anything before 18-20 weeks. I know a few people who were told one thing at 14-15 weeks and ended up having the opposite.

My office wouldn't even guess at 14 weeks, they prefer to wait until at least 17 (late compared to most other offices)

I found out at 14 weeks 4 days with T. They couldn't get his heartbeat on a doppler and had to do an ultrasound. They checked for us to see if they could tell. It was super clear too.

We found out at 13 during my first pregnancy (boy) but the second pregnancy couldn't be sure (girl)

Totally. Accurate predictions at 11-12 wks for both girls; confirmation at 16. However, the tech did say her guess was only 60/40, and this particular office was really laid back. I'm not sure if all would be willing to guess (my current one seems very by the book so I'm doubtful they'll guess for me - booo!)

Our tech guessed at 13 weeks and was right. No clue how accurate it really was, though, since there's a 50/50 shot.

the only "Reliable" way to tell the gender before the 18th-19th week mark is that new blood work test they have that also tests for chromosomal issues such as down syndrome. I heard about that blood test but ended up not doing. with an ultrasound they usually cant be 100% sure until closer to week 19

My tech told us she wouldn't guess at the 15 week ultrasound, but then slipped up and referred to the baby as a he, when he was dancing around. She tried to take it back lol, but I knew she knew that it was a boy. Turns out it's office policy to not give any gender reveals until 16plus weeks. (Except blood test) Even if the tech can tell what it is.

My OB offered to tell us the gender at the beginning of my 12w NT scan, but we told him we were team green. At the end of the ultrasound, he told us he didn't get a good angle and wouldn't have been able to tell anyway.

Our dr told us LO2 was a girl at 15w, that he would put money in it. Imagine our surprise at the 20w scan and finding all boy parts!

I was given an estimation with what they said was 80% accuracy at 12 weeks, and it was correct.

Yes, but it depends on the quality of the machine and how experienced the technician is. Our tech said she can't be totally sure that early, but she was right both times!

My dr took a look during my 12 week NT scan and was right for both of my kiddos. I loved being able to find out that early!! Good luck!

For our first, we got an elective scan at 16 weeks and she said girl. We found out at the anatomy scan that it was definitely a boy. With LO2, we just waited until the anatomy scan to find out.

At 13 weeks, the doctor said he was 99% confident in what he thought the sex of this baby is. We'll see if he was right in May! Have fun at your ultrasound--it's so amazing to see the baby floating around and hear the heartbeat.
