Can gifts purchased from a Target registry be returned? Do you need a gift receipt?

I found that as long as you had one item with a gift receipt or on the registry log, you could usually return other things without receipt/log with it in the same transaction. We had a LOT of trouble with things not logging as purchased on my registry, so I always brought that up if they gave me any hassle

Yes!!! I was dreading Target returns because it was a nightmare when we got married but it was so, so easy. When you get to the store print off your gift purchase log and they will take just about anything. I was able to return things (without a receipt) that I know for a fact were not on there.

Yes, just print off the Purhcase Log, you can return things not on there as well (I do this all the time still, they will accept it even if it's not on the registry giving you a store gift card with balance!)

We were able to return without a gift receipt and without the target purchase log. I used a universal registry system so although there were target items on my list it wasn't target specific. The two items we returned were duplicate purchases so I was really happy they were so accommodating about the returns. The only catch is that we were only able to get back what the current rate is for the item, so if your case is similar to mine, you may want to check to see if it's on sale prior to trying to return. One thing I learned is I will never send a gift to someone without a gift receipt! Most of our returns were easy, but amazon was a huge headache!

I didn't have any issue, but didn't return any big ticket items - as far as I know (double check with them) they limit you to $75 worth of returns w/o receipt per calendar year, per license.

They let me use my registry as a gift receipt. I had no limit, and got all my money back.
