My 3 year old just learned to buckle her chest clip, which is actually helpful since I don't have to fiddle with getting her arms through the straps. Now if I can teach her to buckle the rest without pinching her fingers my life would become just a little bit easier!

mine can only do the chest clip but she takes forever and refuses to let me help.

She can't, but she thinks she can and wants to do it herself (which she tells us by screaming "me me me" when we try to buckle her in - she's only 17 months). She actually can do the chest clip herself but she doesn't understand that her arms have to be through the straps. Right now this is just one of the many problems we're having with her and the car.

The whole thing. She's obsessed with it. I even let her pull the strap tight. But then i adjust it right after.

At 3 she can get the chest clip but not the other one, we've been working on it I'd love for her to be able to buckle herself this winter! I'd also like her to be able to unbuckle herself but she told me that's dangerous...I guess my warnings worked, but now she has the maturity to know it's only when the car is stopped, she's too scared to do it!

@homestylecreations: same- she does the chest clip but can be really slow with it. And doesn't want help. She's getting better.
I don't let her do the crotch buckle- for one, I don't feel like waiting around for that too, but also I don't want her to pinch her fingers, or start fiddling with it and figure out how to unbuckle it.

My 4.5 year old and buckle himself in but needs help tightening the strap. So helpful when I have to wrangle his younger brother into the car seat.

Nope. He tries, but isn't strong enough to push all the clasps into their places. He's 2.

Her job is to put the straps on and do the "top clip" while I get her sister buckled. then I button and tighten. It actually saves quite a bit of time!

My almost 5 year old can buckle the crotch and the chest clip. He isn't able to tighten the straps though.

Nope. He's only 13 months though. He does know once we park that I need to unbuckle him though and he tries to "help"
