Do you have one or did you find it unnecessary? Since the infant seat is rear facing I wanted to get a mirror so I can see the baby and she can see me. But just wondered if its necessary or not

A must buy for us! We use it every car ride to check on her. It helps her see us too. At the stoplight, I'll reach back and put my hand over the seat and she'll reach up to hold it. Big smiles....love looking at that little face. Just keep your eyes on the road, especially on the freeway. NO...I'm not a helicopter.

Must have for us too! Really nice to be able to look at the rear view mirror when driving and see him, or to look at the carseat mirror from the passenger seat and see him.
At almost 12 weeks he is starting to look at it too, and will calm when he sees me in the mirror from the passenger seat.
We have the orange monkey one from BRUS.

I love it. It's nice to be able to see her to see if she's playing, sleeping, etc. We also have the orange monkey from BRU. I heard bad reviews on it because it's cheaper so people said it's hard to see your LO, but I disagree.

absolutely. Liv uses it to see us, and Im constantly looking in it to see what shes up to (when she isnt screaming bloody murder bc she hates her seat.) I have a large oversized one http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11128661
and I also have a Bright Starts one with an elephant on it. The large one is set higher, mostly for me to see Liv. The elephant one is for her to play with

Thanks everyone.
@LivsMama: yeah I am planning to buy a large mirror like the one you posted.

We never used one. We were told in Childbirth/Parenting class that in an accident, things like mirrors become projectiles aimed right at your baby. It was enough to scare us so we never even bought one.

Totally needed it! Just for peace of mind cause sometimes it gets awfully quiet back there and I freak out for a moment.

@Mrsbells: I like ours - i THINK its the one I posted. Either way, the one we have has like 3 clips to it so the chances of it coming off in an accident are slim to none

My sister forgot my 10 m.o. niece's car seat mirror when she came to visit and every car ride while they were here was miserable. My niece was really upset that she couldn't see us and would scream for the duration of every trip. It's on my must buy list for sure!

It's a must have! I got a plain one, but hot glued some little colorful stuffed animals on it. The first 3 months or so, the mirror was for us to keep an eye on our LO. From 3months-now, the mirror keeps LO entertained. She loves looking at herself and making faces.
She also likes to look at the butterflies and etc. that I glued on.

I really like having the mirror. We couldn't secure one well enough in DH's car, and it really frustrates me when I drive his car and can't see LO.

Love it! Mine latches on to the latch where the car seat goes when it's forward facing. Very secure! It didn't go anywhere when I had an accident last month.
