We are traveling to the east coast for the holidays and renting a car. Would you rent a carseat from a car rental company like Hertz or Enterprise?
I mostly just worried if they're clean or have been in accidents before or if the companies are up to date about recalls. Plus I'd love to not lug one through the airport

I wouldn't just because I saw the one my BIL rented one time and it was SO SO bad. I'm sure it depends on the rental place though.

We rented one, it wasn't as nice as our Britax one, but it was AMAZING to not have to check or lug it through the airport. We only needed it for the weekend, and it was just easier.

I think its a great idea, but I would be a little worried if it were clean or not, or accident free. Is there anyway you can call and ask about what they offer?

I rented one and it was nice. I don't think too many people rent car seats so they're usually in good shape. Definitely wasn't as comfortable or cushy as our Britax Advocate, but it was good enough!

@luckypenny: I don't.. (we rented 5 months ago and I have total preggo + mommy brain). I know it was a popular brand though. Sorry!

I think it was a Chico? Is that a possibility? It wasn't the newest thing either, but not too terribly dirty (my DD made it a mess because she spent so much time in it!). I would rent again, especially instead of paying to bring my own.
