@ms.janedoe: Do you mean like if you lost the original one & so happened to have another from the same seat & manufacturer around is it safe? Yes, as long as it was made for that seat by that manufacturer, but you shouldn't use one from say your infant seat & then put it in a different model, say a convertible just b/c it makes lo "fit" better.

ETA: Only what was made for the specific seat should go in it & nothing else..... anything between the child & the seat that wasn't made by the manufacturer to be there can cause issues with how the child is secured in the seat & isn't considered safe.

Nope... Britax says that it's been crash tested & is safe in all of their seats

Say it said it was made specifically for their infant seat though, then it wouldn't be safe in their convertibles.. if that makes sense.

@ladybee: Yea, nothing that would be between the baby & the seat (unless it came *with* the seat)
