My car title is still in my maiden name. If I want to trade in my car does the title need to be in my married name? My maiden name is now my middle name. Anyone have experience with this? The car is paid off (not sure if that matters). Thanks!

I seriously doubt it. I'm in FL, so there may be different title rules, but you wouldn't have to worry about it here. You can always call your local tag office and ask.

I think I just signed my title over in my maiden name, even though I was married at the time with a new last name. It didn't seem to be an issue.

I'm pretty sure when I traded in my last car (it was paid off) the title was in my maiden name.

Ok thanks! I tried checking the DMV's website but couldn't find anything. If I have to change my name that'll require a trip to the DMV in person which is something I'd like to avoid.

I traded in my old car under my maiden name and didn't really have a problem. I think I did confuse them a little, but other than that there was no real problem with it.

I just traded in my car last summer. It was a non-issue.

Should be a non-issue. At best you might have to show the dealer proof of your name change.

I think you'll just need to sign the title over in your maiden name (since that's the name the title is in).

I think mine was actually in my moms name and I had no problem!

No. I did this last month, you basically sign the back of the title and hand it over.
