I ordered LO's holiday pajamas two weeks ago, and have been anxiously awaiting their arrival so that we have everything ready for our Christmas photos.
This morning, I received an email notifying me that my refund has been successfully issued for the pajamas. I called Carters immediately, explaining that we had never received the item, much less returned it for a refund. After a lot of back and forth, it was determined that their system automatically changed the address I had entered (which was correct and has been a valid address for 40+ years) to a different street. The street it changed it to are new apartments they've built in town that have part of the same name as our street. But it's completely ridiculous that it wouldn't recognize our address, changed it to a new one, and did not notify me.
Whoever received my package decided to OPEN it instead of just sending it back to the post office (we've lived here so long I'm sure that they would have seen it to rights). Maybe they opened it by mistake...but when they realized the mistake had been made, instead of calling Carters to inform them it had been shipped to the wrong address, they filled out the return card, taped up the box and dropped it off at the post office. How weird is that?
All of this to say, I have been assured that Carters cannot send the same item back to me because it's now in limbo at their warehouse where they cannot reach it (supposedly). I cannot order a new one because they are now completely sold out on their site, and the lady told me that they will not be restocking it.
Carters seemed unconcerned that the problem was THEIR fault for changing my address without checking first. They're going to send me a discount code, they say. Probably a whopping 10% off or some such. I know it's trivial in the scheme of things, but I'm so upset that we don't have her holiday pajamas and I don't know where we're going to find some in the same style that haven't been sold out.
