@Ali: Use your 6am time. It works just as well. I've had this happen many times for me and not having 3 hours has never seemed to matter when looking at my temps.

How long have you been charting? 1st cycle
TTC Cycle: 1st since ectopic in August, NTNP before that
    Where are you from? Chicago
    Any kids already? nope
Burning charting question: What determines the coverline on FF? Is it like the highest of the last 6 temps as described in TCOYF? In hindsight I probably shouldn't have skipped temping so many days before O while trying to figure all this out...

@ambular1025, @jojogirl, @spaniellove: thanks for weighing in. I picked up some OPKs today to see what they say too. I don't want to wear hubby out

@ambular1025: How do you not have crosshairs yet? Your temps just keep going up!

  6. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@Grace: I think because it's going off of the monitor, but I thought it would go to crosshairs today and it didn't. It's probably confused because my temp skyrocketed before I got a P reading. I hope I get crosshairs tomorrow. Otherwise I'm changing it back to going off of signs.

  7. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

So question: do any of you get post O temps before O all of a sudden? My chart has gone wacko...

  8. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@ambular1025: Whoa, I agree, you should have gotten CH by now!

  9. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@grace: I do now. Not sure why my normal BBT pattern changed and now I get a few that are higher before my monitor reads ovulation. Yours looks like possibly a general temp shift, which may be due to the changing seasons or something.
@spaniellove: Still didn't get CH! I read it wants 3 temps in a row, so it must be presuming this "stairstep" starts ovulation. Probably I'd get CH tomorrow then, but I switched it for a second to FAM and I only got dashed crosshairs. Apparently even the computer is confused.

What IS going on with everyone's weird cycles this month? (cue creepy halloween music!).

  11. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@Ali: You are TOTALLY right! Weird months for all!

  12. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@ambular1025: I wonder if the FAM method got messed up because you had fertile CM after what it would have thought was O?

  13. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

    @Ali: Hahaha!

@ambular1025: Maybe. I guess I'm confused because I didn't have these high temps last year.

  14. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@spaniellove: Possibly. My body is weird this month.

  15. Shutterbug

    grapefruit / 4703 posts

@Ali: haha you're so right about the weird charts! My temp has gone up 0.8 degrees in the last two days but it's earlier than I've ever O'ed, and I haven't gotten a + OPK yet... so confused, and if I did already O, our timing was crap this month.

  16. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

I really shouldn't care, but going by my OPKs I O'ed a day later than usual this cycle! It's always been CD11 or 14, and I didn't get a blazing + (always been the day of O) until CD15. Not that we are trying that hard this cycle, but that really throws off our BD. Is it the changing temps outside or what?!

  17. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

Oh, another thought - the amount of daylight? Over the last few weeks I've definitely noticed the days getting shorter and SAD starting to hit a little, and supposedly that can affect your hormones enough to give you PMS, so I could imagine it also affecting your cycles?

  18. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

    @ambular1025: OMG. BD. Overload.

  19. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@Rachel: maybe you missed your opk +? That's exactly what my temps did this month.
@jojogirl: that's pretty typical of each month since we started trying.
@spaniellove: it could correlate I think.

Hi girls, sorry I've not been around much of late, work was manic this week... and since I'm STILL showing no signs of ovulating, I've been sticking my head in the sand when it comes to my chart yeesh, its only cycle 2 but already I'm despondent, kudos to you ladies who've been doing this a while now, its so hard to be patient!

On the plus side, I was majorly hormonal today; first time I've been happy about that, haha! Hopefully a sign my hormones are getting themselves back into a natural order!

FF question: does anyone know what the real difference between VIP and free membership is? Is the VIP membership worth it?

  21. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

My chart looks just like last time but still no crosshairs so I'm going to assume I'm anywhere from 4-7 dpo lol. I honestly think my monitor was wrong this month. I have always peaked on day 12. This month it was 13. But my test strip on day 12 looked odd so I'm thinking maybe it errored. I'm tempted to reset the machine too. Thoughts?

@ambular1025: I'm envious of your BD schedule!! Just curious: Im so confused because 50% of people and doctors say everyday and 50% say everyother day. How did you guys choose which to follow? I'm also so nervous I'll miss it with everyother day but then I'm worried there won't be a lot there if we do daily.

@evenstar982: hang in there! I got my BFP right off BC and it looks like most people who mc did as well. It's ok for your body to take it's time.

@rachel: thats a big temp spike!! do you think you'll get crosshairs soon?

As for me, we stayed at a hotel all weekend and drank so my temps are way high. I discared both because they just don't make sense. We will see what tomorrow's temp is like. Still getting H on monitor but I'm hoping I O in the next 3 days and that I stay on a 28-30 day cycle

  23. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@alison206: I try to go with EOD until I get something like a positive OPK or super fertile CM, since that's the only time making an extra effort could matter, if it did at all. Are you familiar with SMEP?
    http://www.pregnancyloss.info/sperm_meets_egg_plan.htm
You don't necessarily have to start on CD8 if you O really late I think.

  24. ladybee

    grapefruit / 4079 posts

@spaniellove: That was really interesting!! Right now we are sticking to everyother, however, I plan on every day when I get a P which kinda fits with her plan. My CM is still missing so we've been using pre-seed but I think I may try cough medicine too.

  25. Shutterbug

    grapefruit / 4703 posts

@alison206: I tried playing with it, and with FAM it says I'm 3 dpo. If my temp stays up tomorrow I'll be 3 dpo tomorrow using advanced method. So weird - I've never O'ed this early.

  26. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@alison206: Most things I've read say every day if you're both in perfect shape and every other day if there could be any chance of sperm issues. Since DH is much older than me, we probably should go every other day, but we don't for the most part. What we do do however is to do it early in the morning one day and then in the evening another, so that you're getting about a day and a half in between each time. Do whatever you're most comfortable with, because doctors say each works. Also, I had a hard time getting my CM to come back and ordered FertileCM. It seems to have really helped. I'd totally recommend it.

  27. Grace

    cantaloupe / 6730 posts

@alison206: We usually don't gave the stamina, which is why we go every other day.

  28. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@Rachel: CD17 might also be possible for O day, but it's hard to tell because you don't have pre-O temps in there. Your pre-O temps in the past have been around where your CD17 temp is, which would make CD16's temp more of a dip and move back your rise since O should be a rise compared to your pre-O temps.

  29. marionberry

    @Rachel: Great temp rises!

Hello All! This is my first month charting in earnest, and our first month TTC as well. We're in our 30s and I've been off of BC for the last three months after taking it for over a decade. We married in May and are very excited about trying to make a baby!

I still have much to learn about charting. I keep comparing charts to try to see if there is such thing as "normal" and how I compare. Here is a link to my FF chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/3e2446

I look forward to learning from you all!

    grapefruit / 4703 posts

@spaniellove: Good point - I had changed the method to FAM (mostly because I liked the idea of O-ing on CD 16, haha) but when I change it back to advanced, it moves my O date to CD 17 and moves my CH up from 97.1 to 97.4.

  32. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@Rachel: That makes sense - who knows what the heck advanced is using, but FAM is mostly just going by the rule of drawing the coverline .1 degree above your highest temp before a rise. Sorry to ruin your early O!

@Happygal: I'll add you to my FF friends list; we are in pretty similar situations so will be interesting to see how our charts compare!

@alison206: thanks for the reassurance once again, patience is a virtue I know... just never been one of mine, lol.

Just a general thought which occurs to me now I'm charting, and also stalking others charts... but who on earth are 'they' surveying when 'they' say the 'average' couple DTD 3 times a week?! I mean seriously; even when TTC it's pretty challenging, the rest of the time I say 'they' are liars! lol

    anyone agree?

  37. Cherrybee

    papaya / 10570 posts

@Happygal: I've added you on FF.

@Evenstar982: Absolutely! I'd say, apart from my fertile week, we average once maybe twice a week at best!

@Ambular1025: Your temp keeps going up and up!!! How on earth have you not got crosshairs?! How is the TWW treating you?

  39. spaniellove

    honeydew / 7916 posts

@ambular1025: Wow, FF is really thrown off there! Have you tried discarding your CD12 temp?

  40. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@alison206, @ali, @spaniellove: I know! FF makes me mad but I totally get it. Anyone would say I probably O'd cd 12 or 13, but my monitor didn't pick up a peak until CD 13 and FF always thinks you ovulate a day or two after that, so it's totally confused, thinking I upped my temps before ovulating. I changed my tracker to FAM and it gives me crosshairs on CD 11. I know I O'd so I'm not too worried about it. In fact, it almost matches my last month's chart.

This TWW has been really good because I have been absolutely swamped at work, giving a huge presentation to our hospital administration today and rocking it, and have a clinic I'm working on that's due to be presented to our board on Wednesday, so I haven't had anytime to worry about baby stuff. By not having crosshairs I'm not really following how many DPO I am either, which also helps. Plus I feel like I'm just not going to get pregnant without help, so it takes a bunch of the angst away.

How are all of you doing?!
