I tested, but BFN...so now I just wait for AF...but I'm excited to try for next month. I'll be POAS near my birthday so maybe that will bring some luck

Oh man! Sorry to hear that, your chart looked so good...

@fussygal: Don't worry too much about the BFN. It looks to me like your crosshairs could be wrong. To me it looks like cd 12 or cd 22 was ovulation. If it was 22 then you're not far enough for a positive. Anything is possible until AF shows..and to me your chart looks really good. PS: Great game last night!

@fussygal: I agree with @marionberry, your crosshairs look wrong, especially since your previous LP was much shorter. I think you O'd on what is listed as 7dpo and you might have just had an implantation dip (especially since you had spotting!) Hope thats helpful

@marionberry @mrs.someone Thanks, ladies! I guess that the 22nd does look pretty good. I would have never really given it a second thought if you wouldn't have mentioned it! My cycle last month was kinda wonky and long due to travel (I assumed), but maybe it was more indicative of my regular cycle now that I've been off BC for a few months and things have leveled out.

I took the + OPK off my chart from cd12 and ff moved my crosshairs to cd21! Seems to all line up

@Grace: not anymore . That temp drop has me sad.

@marionberry: At first glance, I'll admit I said "Poo! Poo!Poo!Poo!" But it's not that bad - it only dropped to Thursday's temp, so "It's still good! It's still good!" (ala Homer when Lisa steals the pig that he's BBQ-ing).

Hi there, I was wondering if you guys could take a look at my chart - it's my first month and I feel like such a novice!

    fertilityfriend.com/home/Char54

    Things I'm confused about:
-why I had a +OPK on CD14, negative on CD15, but my temp only rose CD16?

-This morning (O+6) my temp had a MAJOR drop (below coverline). I think it's too early for AF to be coming (my last cycles have been very consistent at 29, 30, 30 and 30 days).

I just got home last night from a cross-country trip (4 hour time change) - I took my temp at 7am local time when I woke up (the same time as when I had been taking it across the country) - but my body would have thought it was 3am due to the time change. I did get 7 full hours sleep though, so would that make a big difference?

I went back to sleep after I took my temp this morning and slept until noon (hello, jet lag!). When I took my temp at noon it was back up to above the coverline (36.86). I entered the initial temp from 7am but I'm wondering which I should keep?

Thanks in advance for any insights you might have!!

@char54: It can often take a few days from positive opk to big temp rise. It's totally normal. A big temp drop around 6dpo could be implantation so that's not totally odd either, unless it doesn't start to come back up soon. I read a lot on temp taking when I had a work trip and when the daylight savings time changed. It says take your temp at the same time you normally would, aka 6am, wherever you are. So if you're on the east coast normally and take it at 6, take it at 6 PST because despite the 3 hour difference it says your body readjusts pretty fast. Always take the temp which is closest to your regular wake up time as long as it's after a good spell of sleep. If you wake up early and then late, use both temps on the temperature adjuster to see where it thinks your temp may have fallen.

@Grace: I guess I've just seen enough charts around here to really doubt that a drop like that will still give me a chance. It would have to rebound tomorrow and never go back down that low really.

@char54: Were you taking your temp at the same time every day? If you don't take it at the same time, it can skew your chart and be hard to interpret. So if we say that the open circle temps aren't as reliable, then it's possible that you ovulated a day or two earlier than it says (closer to the pos OPK). If that's the case, then it's also possible that your dip today is an implantation dip. It's in the right spot for it!

As for your travelling, that always messed up my chart - so that easily could have added to it. I would just consider today's temp to be a wash and try to get a better temp tommorow.

@marionberry: Oh, I know how you feel. Hugs, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for you!

@Grace: @marionberry: Thanks ladies - I have been trying to take my temp at the same time every day (7am - whether I was east coast or west coast) but with Christmas, ski trip, traveling etc. some days I needed to wake up earlier or later - but never more than +/- an hour.

I think I'll leave the temp today as low and see what tomorrow brings. The only good part about the TWW is there's absolutely nothing I can do about it now! If it was an implantation dip that would be oh so fabulous.....

@marionberry: I don't normally post on this thread, but just wanted to tell you to keep your chin up! I charted for 4 months before we started TTC (we were using condoms) and I had beautiful charts during those months--I even tested one month because my chart looked like a pregnancy chart. The month we got our BFP, I had the ugliest chart ever. My temps were rocky, it dipped below the coverline in the middle of my luteal phase, and just looked like the opposite of a pregnancy chart. But that's the month I was pregnant! So don't put too much stock in your chart...this could still be your month!

Is it possible to have implantation dip 5dpo? If not, does a temp drop like that mean anything?

  33. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@ladybee: Dips can happen from implanation or NOT from implantation. Unfortunately no way to know

  34. Happygal

    pomelo / 5000 posts

@ladybee: I've only seen 6 dpo listed as the earliest, but it seems like when TTC, there are always exceptions to the rules. I read about this on FertilityFriend when my temps dived earlier than usual in my LP. They said just one lowered temp doesn't tell you anything....you have to wait (of course!) to see if it fits into a bigger pattern.

  38. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@Mrs.Someone: @shutterbug: I haven't been getting up at 6 and temping, just happening to temp when I do get up and adjust. I'm going to stop, but while going through this constant beta checking, I need something else to assure me my baby's still there. I am NOT a fan of beta checking, lol.

  39. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@ladybee: I know with IUI they say implantation usually 4-5 days afterward. So I think it would be possible that if you hit it at the right spot you could have implantation that early. Mine was on 6 dpo but I had a dip on 4 dpo too.

  40. ladybee

    grapefruit / 4079 posts

@marionberry @shutterbug: I so hope that's the case but I'm still not going to get my hopes up very high!
