a while back i read through a post about cheap maternity tops, but now i can't find it! i'm in desperate need of some tops though, and i'm on a budget. all of my pre-pregnancy tops are (already!) getting tight. all i have in the way of maternity tops are solid color ruched t-shirts, but i'd really love some cute ones. suggestions?

I bought a few shirts at Ross that aren't maternity but are just bigger/flowier/stretchier. They were about $10 each. I don't need anything truly maternity et, but my regular clothes look inappropriately tight!

My favorite website for cheaper cute maternity clothes is sweatpea maternity. I got some really cute tops to wear with jeans, and I bought a few of their skirts and maxi dresses that I LOVE and they're not really expensive at all. They also ship super fast.
My favorite basic stuff is from the Gap. I LOVE their Pure Body tanks, the material is so soft. I just bought a few in the basic colors and I wear the crap out of them with my long skirts from sweatpea and my maternity jeans. I wish they were cheaper, but I swear they are worth it and you'll only need a few:) The ribbed tanks from Gap and Old navy are okay, but I love the smooth material of these...They look "neater" or something:

I got some great deals at Gap & Old Navy outlet stores. A couple of my favorite pieces are actually non-maternity -- just flow-y shirts in one size larger than I would normally wear. I also found some cheap stuff at Kohl's.

@jholler25: I'm so going to get some of those. I wore a regular tank to Publix today thinking I was still small enough to pull it off, but I exposed my belly to all the old people of boca. Fail.

I did really well for dressier maternity tops at thrift stores (more specifically, Savers). I was able to buy t-shirts and stuff new and then get the dressier special occasion/work tops used. Also, JC Penny has inexpensive maternity. They have a LOT more online than in the store, but whatever I got there was very comparible in quality to motherhood for like half the price!

Walmart online actually has a maternity collection now - some tops are super cheap (<$10) - I bought two hooded sweatshirts for $15 each. Burlington Coat Factory also has really cheap maternity clothes.

I live in the stretchy t-shirts from Target. they're a v-neck and a couple colors..9.99! i have about 5?? lol.

thanks everyone! i'm going to head out to our old navy with maternity this week and check it out. i think i'll also check out some of the department stores and bargain stores like tj maxx and ross. hopefully i'll actually have some clothes to wear by the end of the week!

I think about 90% of my maternity wardrobe is from Old Navy. They always have sales and I usually stock up.

Not super glamorous but Walmart.com has a lot of cute super reasonable in price shirts!

Old Navy's were my favorite... hate to admit that they are so comfy I still wear them around the house.
