Growing up our parents always let us open one gift on Christnas Eve. This year is LO's first Christmas, so he got to open his first gift! We got him a book, "The Night Before Christmas", which was perfect because we read it before bed

He gets to choose one gift, but not from immediate family. He chose one from the in-laws. Paw Patrol pjs, bubble bath, and DVD.

He opened all the ones from us tonight. And tomorrow he'll open the ones from Santa.

I was going to let them open their stockings but DH was being a Scrooge and said one thing, even if it was in the stocking! Lol
So I gave dd1 her blue bike bell and dd1 her swimming penguin. They both loved it.
DD1 got Twas the night before Christmas on her first and we read it ever my Christmas Eve in front of the tree and fireplace.

We meant to let her open one present tonight but we forgot. Whoops. She was already up an hour past bedtime so we were rushing to leave cookies for Santa. Read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, take pics of the kids under the tree in their Christmas PJs, and get her to bed so we could set up Santa presents.

Because my family is all back home in New Zealand, we Skyped in to open all of her presents from family yesterday afternoon (their Christmas morning). That and my SIL in Washington state wanted us to open hers yesterday.
Last night she opened her pjs, which will be our tradition from here on out. Today she will be opening her presents from us and DH's side of the family

Our Elf brought PJS for dd, so I thought we were good to go, but hubby let her open another because he wanted to open one too!

We let her pick one and it was the peppa pig dollhouse. She was beyond excited and didn't go to bed till 10pm
