When people do "Christmas Jammies" - and open/wear Christmas-themed jammies on Christmas, do they only wear it for that one day? I'm honestly confused because I never had this tradition growing up.
It seems like a waste for just one day? For K, I let her wear her Christmas jammies since before Thanksgiving. But I saw a lot of IG posts with new Christmas jammies on Christmas Day.

@shopaholic: I bought H some special Christmas Jammies to wear on Christmas Eve night/ Christmas Day but she's going to wear it throughout Jan & Feb too or until weather changes. Next year I want matching or color coordinated ones.

We have only had adults until this year, but we wear ours throughout the year. This year, my 7 week old LO got hand me downs from a friend for Christmas PJs, but they are fleece and too warm for sleeping here, so we just hung out in them and took some pictures. For future, we would just wear them through out the year until she grows out of them.

We have never had Christmas pajamas. If we did get some on Christmas morning, we would put them on, then wear them through the winter. Then we would pull them back out for Christmas Day again and wear them through the winter again. I find it silly if you buy a pair for just one day!!

We would open our Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve and wear them for the first time that night and then we would just wear them throughout the winter too.

DS once was given a set of PJ's with Santa on them, and he just outgrew them. He would wear them any time cause he said they were so comfy and no one sees you in your pjs anyways, lol.

For our family, it's a tradition for grandma to buy the grandkids matching pjs. We used to all open them on Christmas eve after mass and we most definitely wore them again! My mom was so excited to be able to buy her first set this year for my LO.

When I was a kid we would get flannel winter jammies from our aunts. They weren't technically christmas but maybe had holly or snowflakes. For LO, I got her some santa jammies that she's been wearing for months. I dont really get giving christmas specific jammies for Christmas either, especially for a kid who will grow out of them long before next year.

Our Christmas PJs were not necessarily Christmas themed with reindeer and Santa on it, but were new and fresh for the occasion. Wearing them again and again did not look weird. Even when the jammies were red they didn't scream only-Christmas.

Yeah, I got D a new set that is personalized with his name and says "My First Christmas" on it. He wore them Christmas Eve and all day Christmas Day. And he'll continue to wear them until he outgrows them.

We do this in my family. We open a new pair of pajamas on Christmas Eve, wear them that night & the next morning, and then have a pair of jammies for the rest of the year. Some of my jammies have been given to Goodwill by now, but I still have some that I got in high school!

In our family Mrs Claus comes the night of the 23rd and leaves us all matching pyjamas to open Christmas Eve morning. I Weser them all winter, it doesn't matter to me that they are Christmas themed. In fact most of my winter pyjamas are Christmas ones from the past!

I don't buy holiday themed clothes! I don't like things that can only be worn for a month or so. We have a lot of hand me downs though, so we get to enjoy some Christmas jammies. Otherwise we just try to get something of the holiday's color that can be worn again.. Orange for Halloween, brown for thanksgiving, red or green for Christmas, pastels for easter. Sometimes I'll get a holiday accessory like a bib or socks. We do a lot of plaid, which feels very festive.

In our family we get new jammies on Christmas Eve. Sometimes they are Christmas themed, sometimes not. We always wear them all year long even if they do have a Christmas theme.
The point is to get new pj's that night and to be in them the next morning. Some years my family would do themes or matching for cousins if we were together.
I love it because I never have to buy myself pj's.

My LO will waer them all winter and possibly into spring, but we used to get them & put them on the 24th so we had matching PJs on Christmas morning. My mom did this for us, and now she gifts them to the nieces/nephew and they have matching PJs.

Like PPs, my mom used to get us new Christmas pjs to wear Christmas Eve and then all Christmas Day. We wore them throughout the year (although now they are just warm pjs). I got R some this year with a reindeer and she'll keep wearing them til she outgrows them.

We exchange on Christmas Eve, but I do attempt to get "winter" themed pajamas. My husband and I usually exchange flannel pajamas, which are used on cold evenings, year round.
I wanted to get DD a pair with penguins or snowmen that were appropriate for January and February, but I found a "My first Christmas" pair with reindeer, instead. They were on major clearance at $4.50, so I figured, what the heck.

The kids all get "Christmas" jammies and they wear them Christmas Eve and all through holidays. We go to the cottage over New Years and the jammies are used then. LO will wear hers for the next month or so and then she'll be too big. The adults all get jammies too for Christmas but they aren't "Christmas" print so we just wear ours all year! I love getting new jammies each year!

We never did Christmas PJs but I would love to do this tradition when I have LOs. I don't think I would buy the ones that are overtly Christmas-y, but the color coordinated ones are so awesome!
