On the bookcase. (My mom is still finishing stocking #4, hence the empty hanger)

On the stair railing. It's in the middle of the living room so it works for us.

@raspberries: How high is the bottom of your window?? Is it a high window? I have a 17 month old, and I imagine her pulling them off 24/7

@MrsBrewer: Oh yeah, the bottom of the window is about 4 ft off the ground - our 15 mo old can't reach them yet!

@raspberries: Ahh yes that would be perfect! My mom has tall windows like that in her house, and that would be ideal!

I might try to do this. It seems easy enough and this is the first year I have ever lived in a place without a fireplace.

We had a thing that hung on the wall growing up. Kind of like this. https://www.etsy.com/listing/485877349/christmas-stocking-holder-wooden?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=wall%20stocking%20holder&ref=sc_gallery_1&plkey=84482f86993d1039d3105671949f8add0481cb28:485877349

We always had them on the stair railing growing up. It was right in the living room and you could see it when you walked in the door. My parents still do it but with 5 kids, 4 spouses, and soon to be 5 grandkids, they are going to need another staircase.

I grew up with them on nails on the wall and Santa moved them to the couch corners. Last year we hung them from the stair railings.

Hang off a window landing in the dining room. I have very small stockings and they're actually usually blocked by the dining chair haha. Maybe I'll move them when the girls are older and they take on a bigger role.
