My son is Aaron - even though its actually quite far down on the popularity list of names, people always tell me its such a classic. We just used it cause its my grandfather's name.

My nephew is a Henry and it totally suits a little boy. Congrats on having a boy, btw. So happy for you!

@2PeasinaPod: scouring this list as we need a boys name! So tough! I like Ethan a lot, DH doesn't love. I also really like Henry. Also Leo, Tyler, Hunter & Oliver....

You guys are so great! These are all really great names, and we've got a ton of ideas!
My DH really has the worst taste in names. While he didn't veto Everett completely, he wasn't a huge fan. I kept it on.

I love Joel, Caleb and Levi - they're all classic biblical names but not super popular

@2PeasinaPod: update please! Did your DH approve of any of the names suggested here? Share your working list with us.
(Obviously I'm obsessed with name posts)

John (Jack)
Louis
Ryan
Mark
Benjamin
Harrison
Thomas
Everett (DH isn't a big fan, but I'm hoping I can sway him)
Adam
Joseph
Marshall (NN: Marty)
Calvin (Cal)

@2PeasinaPod: just curious b/c it was sort of on our list too, how would you pronounce Louis?

@mrscobee: We were going with Louie rather than Lou-is (with the hard s).

I love Henry! DH and I don't agree on many names either, I'm also a fan of the classics. Good luck!

@2PeasinaPod: cool! you have a pretty long list to work with. I think Everett, Adam and Calvin are my favs. Good luck swaying your DH on Everett! Would he consider Emmett?

@lady grey: I don't think so...reminds us both of Back to the Future
honeydew / 7235 posts
@2PeasinaPod: Marty reminds me more of back to the future than Emmett! Haha. Good list!!!! We have zero names still.

Resurrecting this thread as we're getting closer! Ironically enough Henry grew on DH a ton and it's on our short list.
Our working list is now:
John (Jack) - DH thinks John is too plain, but loves Jack. I tend to agree with him, but love that there are so many strong Johns in my life.
Andrew - I got over the fact that I had a really bad boss with the same name. We also love that it's a strong Saint's name (we're both religious).
Henry - hooray for DH changing his mind on this one. Neither of us are sold on Hank, but we don't think this will be as common or obvious of a nickname than say shortening Thomas to Tommy.
Calvin - our hang up with this one is that our last name ends in "in" too. But we love the nickname Cal.
Asher - this one was added last night. I feel like it's becoming really trendy, but both DH and I like it which is unusual. We also both love Ash as a nickname.
@Rainbow Sprinkles: Thanks for the Calvin suggestion
