Hello Everyone! I've been soaking up HB content for a few weeks now as my husband and I try for baby #1.
My husband and I were both born and raised in Montana…Big Sky Country!
I am 31 and now live in the Midwest, where we moved 7 months ago for my job with a Pharmaceutical Company.
We have 1 furkid, a chihuahua.
I am a Neuroscientist and spent 12 years in college.
I love to refinish furniture, cook, drink wine and craft beer, hike, work out and travel.
It's so lovey to "meet" all of you

@My Only Sunshine: I just ate a piece of pumpkin bread...lol
@StrawberryBee: Look at that little buddha belly... she really enjoyed the cake
@gingerblonde: Have you read the other Kenzie/Gennaro stories? I read gone baby gone when the movie came out but my hubs downloaded the other books (a drink before the war, darkness take my hand, etc) GBG make so much more sense now. And now that i have a LO it made it so much harder to read, emotionally. I love your daughter's spunky hair
@Willow: Welcome and good luck on you TTC journey. The hive is a great resource for advice and support
@Mrs. J: I loved High school english esp my junior year when we read - Great Gatsby, scarlett letter, the bean trees and a bunch of tennesse williams..... whats on the curriculum these days. So cute how you met your husband

@Chillybear: Let me know how you like the series, I've been considering starting it for years and have yet to pull the trigger
@ninjaduck: That is my absolute favorite too! BABY preteams. I also think it's the hardest but when they get that first backhandspring - MAGIC!
@Bigskygirl: I did my Phd in Developmental Genetics but my husband was in neuroscience. What type of research did you/do you do?
So a little about me...
I'm 30 years old and met my husband in college. When we first met he was dating one of my friends. We've been together for 10 years and married for 2.
We are both from the midwest and went to college at University of Wisconsin and moved out to Southern California for grad school and have stayed.
I work in clinical genetics.
I had a son, Lucas, who passed away at 14 months after battling a (presumably) congenital condition that is still undiagnosed and not understood. He's been gone 1 month today.
My husband and I are currently looking to buy our first house (I had to end on a happier note)

Great thread! I've been around since the beta days and am a hostess, but have slacked on getting to know newer members!!
I'm a 31 Korean-American mid-westerner. Raised and reside in MI, after a brief stint in CA for college. I'm a consultant at a global HR firm (WOHM/WAHM). DH is soon to be 33, Polish/German-American and we met at my first job out of college! He was in management and it was a big NO-NO for us to date! Made for exciting dates We met 8 summers ago! :O We'll be celebrating our 4th anniversary next month. We live in a suburb outside of Detroit with our two furbabies and DS (21 months).
A lil about me: I love the color yellow, obsessed with reading, social media keeps me "un" bored, I love sushi, zumba, and 'me-time' is essential to my sanity!
We are currently TTC LO#2 and I feel like a newbie all over again! OPKs and BDing schedules, eeeek!

What a great thread! Happy to meet you all. I'm not talented enough to write about me and reply to you all in the same post so I'll post twice
I'm a frequent reader/infrequent poster. I joined HB in November right before DD was born, but I have been too busy trying to juggle everything to write thoughtful posts. I feel like I'm starting to get my act together again and am trying to participate more frequently!
- I'm 32. Grew up in Oregon and now live in Washington with DH, DD (almost 9 months), and our two cats.
- I'm a SAHM. My hope was to find a career I loved and be able to work part-time while staying at home part-time… but long story, that didn't exactly work out. I always wanted to have kids and be a mom though so I am pretty content being a SAHM for now.
- I enjoy running, hot yoga, TV, coffee, reading, drooling over pretty home decor blogs, and a good drink (red wine or a nice IPA please).
- I want to learn to use my sewing machine, bake and cook more often and more confidently, and get into photography (really just take some non-iPhone photos of DD!)

@Lindsay05: happy anniversary!!
@Ms.Badger: good luck on the house hunt!!

@Ms.Badger: I feel like we could be best friends based off that statement. I love when they get their first backhandspring! Its the cutest and most rewarding thing ever! I get really scared that because they are 5-6 they will randomly do something different and I won't be right there to catch them, but how proud they are when they succeed is my favorite!
Also, I'm pretty new around here, but reading about your son broke my heart for you. I hope you get some answers. Buying a house is fun though!

I love learning more about everyone! Now that this thread is so long, it is kind of impossible to reply to everyone, but I have read everyone's responses and looking forward to getting to know everyone a little more! I also love all the pictures of the babes! So cute. I was a longtime lurker and just recently started posting more once my daughter was born.
I am 29 years old (almost 30, woah).
I have been married to my husband for 2 years, but we have been together for 9.
We live in Atlanta, Georgia.
I have an almost 4 month old little girl who is so sweet (despite her dislike of sleep) and a 8 year old cat. We want to get a dog after our dog passed away last summer, but that is on the back burner until we get the hang of this baby thing!
I was working in healthcare until I went out on maternity leave. I changed my job status to PRN and they haven't called me and I am not going to call them! Hoping to stay out of work a bit longer.
I enjoy working out, shopping, reality tv, tv in general, celebrity gossip, and traveling.
persimmon / 1121 posts
I'm enjoying getting to know everyone! With multiple pages it's hard to reply to everything, but I read it all! I was mostly active in the TTC boards, and now my due date board, but I'm trying to push myself to get more involved (I'd love to meet people in my area!) so here goes...
My husband and I met freshman year of college and have been together for 11 years, and married for 4. We're expecting our first child in February.
In the last 5 years, I've lived in 5 different states, which has been challenging, but we're finally in a place where we plan to stay for a while.
I live in NYC, and I swore up and down that I would NEVER move there, but I surprise myself at how much I love it.
I have two little doggies who I love to death and are definitely our first babies, and I'm a little nervous about how adding a child to our family will affect them.
I'm a music teacher and I play in a community band.
Besides music, I enjoy photography, crafting (I mostly make cards), reading, ballet and watching baseball and college football.

@sorrycharlie: You see that dog in my avatar? Part Sheltie. He is the most neurotic, barking-est dog I've ever owned. And we love him. (But I'm secretly afraid that E's first words are going to be "No, Max!")
C'est impossible to reply to everyone I want to on my iphone. Will have to hit up the laptop when I get home!
I'm 35 and my name is L.
DH and I have been together for 5 years, and will be married for 3 in October. We spent our first anniversary apart and our second anniversary getting nachos. I wonder if 3 year is pizza!
I have a nearly 15-month old son who is just now in the wobbly zombie-walking stage.
I'm pregnant with our second...17 weeks!
I love my job, but it has given me a lot of debt! (I love the budgeting threads/ideas, and @MrsHighHeels and @Twist have gotten me thoroughly addicted to YNAB.)
Alas, any HB meet-up thread I create will probably get zero supplies, because I don't know any other bees who live in the Great white North and to the (waaaay) Left.

@Bubbles: OMG! i have an 8 month old who weighs in at a whopping...15 lbs! it's so funny to me how big a range there is.
@Aria: 2 dogs in NYC? wow! I have a hard enough time having one baby here haha.
@Brassgiraffe: I totally want to learn to cook more confidently, but i feel like with an 8 month old, my cooking skills have gotten worse lately, not better!

I'm Bluestriped Bee. I'm 30. I'm 100% vietnamese and married for almost 5 years to a German/Irish caucausian man. I work in the pharmaceutical industry.
Been on HB for a long time and started TTC a few months after joining here. I'm one of the fellow IF (infertility) users on this site. I have been TTC for 26 active months now, but started TTC in November 2011 (had some breaks). I've had 6 IUIs and now I'm moving to IVF. It's definitely been a long and sometimes difficult journey for us. If you suffer from IF, we have a great group here. Feel free to join in our weekly IF threads or check out the infertility boards.
Oh, I'm in the Seattle area.
I have instagram but you'll have to wall me to swap names. I have two furry dogs that I love dearly and are my furbabies. I post a ton about them and the crazy things they do.
ETA (edited to add for new bees): Wow, just going through and reading all the responses. A lot of bees posting about living in the Philly/ South Philly area. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Philly. Penn State Alum anyone? I moved out to Seattle 6 years ago for a job.

@chillybear-- thanks for setting up this thread!
I have been an avid blog reader/board lurker since discovering hellobee when my daughter was a newborn. I don't post too often and feel like I "take" more than I give.. I'd like to change that/feel more like I am part of the community!
About me....
-I am in my early 30s and live in the DC metro area (VA side)
-I have a little girl who will be turning 2 this weekend which is crazy to me. I was pretty excited when she turned one (felt like an accomplishment to make it through the first year) but am definitely feeling more sentimental about her second birthday!
-DH and I have been together for 7.5 years and married for 5 (in early September).
-I work full-time in the heath policy field and I love my job (most of the time) but feel a lot of mommy guilt for missing so much time with my DD during the week. In ideal world I could work less than full time but just not int he cards in my current job.
-Both my parents are going through health issues right now which has been really hard on me
-I have baby fever BAD-- I am so ready to TTC #2 but DH is not on board yet (I'm really hoping soon though!)

Hi I am mrsog, as in Mrs. O'G.... I am married to an Irish/Italian from the Bronx who likes to eat pasta and drink whiskey. We met in college 10 years ago and have been married for 3 years.
We have 1 son who is 14 weeks old and the light of my life.
My first baby is my english bulldog, Tyson. He is a lot of work to maintain and he snores really loud but he is the best. We adopted him from a family getting rid of him when he was 5 and he is 8 now.
I am from the NYC area. We lived in Manhattan for 2 years but bought a place in the burbs when I was pregnant. We both still work in the city though.
We both love watching sports. I am a Yankee fan and he is a Met fan but we are both Jets fans and die hard Rangers (hockey) fans.
I am the happiest on a Friday night at home with a glass of wine and a movie on the couch. and now add in DS and its a perfect night.
I read HB almost every day but I rarely post. I would like to get a bit more involved in some of the chat so this was a nice way to introduce myself a bit more!

DD has been taking a marathon nap, so I started replying to everyone, and now this post is out of control! Can't keep up anymore Happy Thursday everyone! Hope to chat with more of you in the future.
@Chillybear: Thanks for starting this thread! I feel like I am faking the adult thing too. Also, I made the Korean tacos for the first time last night--so good!
@ValentineMommy: I'm sorry for your loss. Your son is seriously adorable, and his shirt in that photo is awesome!
@ninjaduck: hi from a fellow lurker!
@whenoceansrise: congrats on your growing family!
@loopedd: I used to work in non-profit development too! Lots of hard work for not much pay, but it was rewarding. Bravo is the best. I'm a little sad that I can't keep up with all their shows now. Also, I love Phase 10!
@sorrycharlie: I am starting to appreciate fall more and more. Now that I associated it less with "back to school" dread and more with "cute boots" season, I am happier when it rolls around!
@MrsBrewer: I've been in a baking mood lately, and I'm excited to try that recipe. Love banana bread!
@dreamocracy: Your daughter is adorable! I love her name.
@youboots: my parents live in Portland and are obsessed with Oregon Pinot. I've been down to wine country a few times with them; it is such a beautiful area!
@LAZB: DH and I played on a kickball team awhile ago, and I was terrible! I used the "I'm pregnant" excuse to not play last year. I'm so sorry about the passing of your son. Sending you good thoughts for a peaceful pregnancy.
@HappyBluebird: I'm with you, a small gathering is more my speed than a huge gathering! Introverts unite
@yin: I miss Google Reader too!
@Mrs. Chocolate: I'm thinking about getting into photography and am another fan of your posts about it!
@Leah: hi from a fellow homebody!
@cyndistar3: your LO's are beautiful!
@Bubbles: Aw, big babies are adorable! I bet you have strong arms
@Jruess: I'm trying to de-lurk as well. Congrats on #2! Do you know or have an inkling if it is a boy or girl?
@avivoca: I would love to learn to sew and make quilts!
@Mrs. High Heels: Adding those books you mentioned to my reading queue!
@BabyBoecksMom: Your girls are adorable! DH and I have a height difference of 12"… I can't imagine 15"!
@My Only Sunshine: That sounds like a great party theme! Just pretend you never went on Pinterest
@StrawberryBee: such adorable pictures of your daughter.
@gingerblonde: Hi from a fellow Seattle-ite! Well, north of Seattle

@Brassgiraffe: Wow! Props to you for replying to everyone. I can only do the copy and paste a few times, so I'm lazy and just post a billion times every time I reply. *Thumbs up*
I'm from Seattle, too! We had a meetup a few months ago and I think we are trying to plan another.

So I'm SpanielLove...
-I'm in my early 30s, went through a lot of IF and a few m/c's and finally have my 2 month old baby boy.
-LO has severe to profound hearing loss and is getting hearing aids soon although there's a good chance he may end up with cochlear implants around 1 year old. We're hoping he can get by with hearing aids.
-I live in South Jersey and used to be a teacher in the inner city, loved it! Hated the bureaucracy!
-And one last thing, I have Aspergers...but you probably wouldn't realize it if you met me.

@Ms.Badger: So far i've read the first four and i'm reading Prayers for rain which is right after GBG. So good! esp the 2nd one Darkness take my hand but they are really dark, hard to read at points. I can only imagine what the last month has been like for you but I must say that i admire your strength, courage, and grace. I'm so sorry for your loss and I wish you all the best on your house hunt
@Brassgiraffe: The north west is definitely on our places to travel to. Hubs love craft beer and i hear that a place to go if you love it
@ellewoods84: So stinking cute! i love when they learn to sit like that
@Espion: Now i'm curious about what you do for a living -

@bluestriped bee: haha, time just flew by while DD was napping and I was enjoying the quiet time with my coffee. Once I realized how long that post was, I hoped I wasn't going to look crazy! Another meetup would be great; I was out of town for the last one.

I'm not new but want to play along
I'm 30 and live in NYC but have also lived in DC and was born in the Midwest.
I'm a phd student in the humanities.
LO was born in April this year and I'm loving being her mommy!
dh and I have been together 8 years and married for 4.
I've been a vegetarian since I was 4, but dh is the cook in our family-- he does eat meat but always makes sure to feed me too
I love Zumba but haven't really worked out more than a handful of times since before I was pregnant, oops.
My dissertation requires a lot of travel for research and I found out I was pregnant when I was alone overseas-- that was really hard!
My favorite thing in the world is having a picnic w dh, lo, and our pups outside. Someday we'll have a yard but for now we're in parks a lot!

Hi! I'm new (today), and jumping into this thread late.
I'm Ballerinabee
I will be 37 next month (seriously?!) and I agree with Chillbear - totally still feel like i'm faking this whole being an adult thing
I'm from Ohio, but live in MD now (with NH, Germany, Boston and Portugal in the middle)
I often stink at replying to things in a timely fashion, so I apologize in advance if I'm slow on here (I have few free seconds in a day, but I would love to make myself a place in this community!)
I met my husband through mutual friends (my Dad said never meet a guy in a bar, and technically DH and I were in a bar when we met, so I definitely told my Dad I met him in a bar... tee hee!)
We were friends for a year first, dated for 2 years, and were married on 12-11-10
We have no pets
I have 2 stepsons who live mostly with their mom (they're 9 & 11), that I wish we had full time. They're great kids, and we miss them a lot.
DH and I have a 2.5 yo son together, who cracks us up on a regular basis and is adorable (totally biased, I know), which is good, because he's a troublemaker (has been since I was pregnant - sudden onset pre-e in my 33rd week, PPROM, preemie at 33+5, NICU graduate, colicky non-sleeper)
I'm a sports nut (Cleveland sports, unfortunately), but DH (a Baltimore fan) and I cheer for the Washington Capitals and DC United (soccer) as our only communal teams
I love to read, go to concerts & sporting events, travel, I miss ballet & gymnastics, I love wine and game nights, and I am NOT concise (never have been, never will be)
