Ohh yeah I posted about a comment my mom made yesterday while out with DD to another person!
A Dad was BW and commented on how well DD listened and walked, he said his DD was almost 14 months and just started taking steps, I smiled and said I'm sure it is anydya now.... then my mom says wow 14 months maybe you carry her to much and she isn't on the floor enough
I felt so bad

I wore my kiddo almost every day of her life and basically always in public until very recently (she's almost 2) and she was walking at 10 months. So f that noise. Kids will walk when they want to

@Mae: and I on the reverse never ever wore my LO and he was on the later side walking at 14mo, further proving it doesn't matter lol

It's funny how no one makes those comments about strollers. Kids will walk when they want to. And it's so much easier when they don't!

@ShootingStar: I think it is something that is not understood by many people and that is where the comments steam from?!

I rarely wore my oldest and always wore my youngest, they both started walking at 15 months. I'd have said to him, "Please accept my apology for her rudeness."
I've done that to my mom before when she's spouted out something crazy. She didn't realize how rude her comment was, usually it stems from thoughtlessness or being a know it all. Once my mom asked my distant cousin how much she had gained so far in pregnancy I immediately came out with, "MOM! You can't ask things like that. I'm so sorry about that" After a later discussion, my mom thought it was rude to ask the baby's sex or the name (?), but not asking about weight gain.

@FaithFertility: hugs. I'd have been mortified, too. My MIL is a loud mouth, and doesn't stop to think sometimes. Luckily she has been really careful about comments to us regarding LO. Not so much towards strangers tho.

I do a lot of babywearing and as you know K walked before she was 12 months! It really sucks that a lot of people aren't educated about babywearing and exactly what the benefits are and how they really isn't any bad side effects!!
