@mrs. bird: To be perfectly honest I only used the hose when I REALLY had to. I would walk over to my parents house a few blocks away and shower there (although they also had a "wet bath" at least they had a shower head and a reasonable amount of hot water!). My husband used ours all the time though.
The other problem was that we only had running water four hours a day, two hours in the morning and two hours at night. So if you missed the window, you were screwed. It was a long year. lol

Wow! How do people go without vacuums!? We have 4... hahah!
We don't have anything coffee related because we don't drink coffee.

We no longer have a breadmaker as it walked off the counter, and no longer have a toaster oven since DH left it in his bunkroom in Alaska while he was working there last summer.

We don't have window coverings in some rooms, no toaster oven (is this a common one?)...
On another note, we have a dishwasher but never used it once. We use it as our tupperware storage!

coffee pot
iron (BUT in a pinch you can use a flat iron, like if you wash your jeans and the hem rolls up....)

Ironing board & iron. If it's wrinkled I either steam it out or take it to the cleaners. I hate ironing!

When we moved to our first apartment. We didn't have an iron, ironing board, plunger, and scissors.

We don't have a dishwasher. Our toaster and tv are in the basement, not being used (We eat paleo now? And watch on the computer).
I definitely use my iron a lot! But I sew.

@shopaholic: @sunny: Well we had no carpet and we would hang our rugs off the balcony and beat them to get the dirt out, so we were fine without a vacuum.
Edit: Every three months we would haul to rugs out to the courtyard in the apartment building and wash them by hand with a scrub brush. So, they were actually kept quite clean.

We have most things, not an ironing board though.
Before I moved in with DH he didn't have a lot of things. I asked for a pan to cook with and he handed me a pot. He had no pans. He didn't have most kitchen appliances, utensils, etc. Or normal ingredients that you keep in the house, like eggs and flour. The day that we got to register was the best day, finally we got to get all of those normal things!

@artbee: ah men! My Dh exclusively used paper plates and plastic forks/knives before we started dating and I took him on a trip to bed bath and beyond!

@hilsy85: Haha, my dad still prefers to use paper plates! When my mom serves meals on her china and tells people that it's her grandma's he runs and pulls out a paper plate and tells people it's his grandma's fine china..... it's always his joke. He's just used to using paper plates.
DH always got takeout before me so plates were rarely needed. His dishwasher was broken and he didn't care because he never needed to use dishes.
