DH and I often talk about how we wouldn't be able to switch careers! 
He's SO good with people, managing, sales, training, etc.
I am SO good with project management, back office support, consulting, etc.
We would be miserable if our jobs were switched! I know his job well enough to do the job, but not with as much pizazzz and success as he does it daily!

Oh heck no! I don't even fully understand what his job is called, let alone what it entails. He couldn't do mine either - he's missing the boobs to feed the babies.

He's a MAJOR people person, but he doesn't do well with computer related tasks at all. Meanwhile, I write much better and do a lot of web posting, etc. I think we could try each other's jobs, but we'd each take at least twice as long to do anything

Definitely not. He's an electrical engineer and I am a designer. Polar opposites.
Not to mention I have no idea what he's talking about 99% of the time when he's on a call with someone from work. Like they are speaking Martian.

I couldn't even fake it for 2 minutes. He does... something related to programming? I literally don't even know what is on his computer screen most of the time.

Technically, yes - our jobs are really similar, I just don't have any expertise in his particular area.
But in reality? Hell no. I have zero desire to work that much!

I could but he's way more driven to do what he does than I could ever be. We're both in good places for our strengths.

If I went to law school, yes. He tells me I should go, then takes it back because then we would argue too much, haha.
He would be good at my job, but it doesn't interest him at all!

No. I know next to nothing about finance and compliance which is what he works on for 10 hours a day. I'm a SAHM and I know he would go stir crazy at home so I like to think he couldn't do my "job" either.

If I learned yes I could, but I wouldn't enjoy it he would have no idea how to do mine, but I think he could pick it up if taught.

No, we still work in the same industry but on complete opposite ends of the spectrum....he couldn't do my job either. Our roles are well suited to our strengths

Nope! I'd probably be fine with the managing part, but I know nothing about engineering and the equipment at his plant.

Yup. I think we could actually switch jobs pretty seemlessly even though we work in totally different industries. Which is odd, because we are very different from each other.

Hmmm... possibly. It'd take a lot of practice and mental strain. He teaches math and, to his dismay, it's mostly generals math, so pre-algebra, algebra, stats, etc. I haven't taken that much math, but I could probably figure it out if I tried.
He would hate my job - don't blame him but he could do it just fine.

Yes, to an extent. We both are both teachers, but we teach different subjects. I can't imagine him teaching ELD (I teach students who have just moved to the US.)

We could do each other's jobs with a little bit of training. His job requires a lot more... effort... than mine does, and I don't have the desire to put in as much time/work/stress as he does!

He's a HS French teacher, and even aside from the fact that I don't speak any French whatsoever, I have tried teaching in the past, and I am fully aware that it is NOT as easy as everyone thinks it is!
Lots of people think they could be teachers, and that it would be an easy job, with summers off. The truth of the matter is, fewer people truly have the ability to teach well, and to simultaneously manage a classroom of 30-35 rowdy teenagers! I know I don't!

we do exactly the same job for different companies, so I could def do his job. I am not sure he could do mine since I do my job and take care of our baby and all things domestic! I think he would be too tired if he did all the stuff I do. I sleep hours less than him a day.

No way. He is an independent contractor with one gigantic client and does all of their internet marketing for a division. I did not know that Google has a gagillion certifications for AdWords, but he has them all. He also works from home, which sounds great, but I think I'd have major procrastination problems.

He couldn't do mine because he can't stand sitting still for 10 minutes and I have an office job.

Nope! He's a pastor, working with kids & teens. That whole public speaking thing (and hanging out with tons of moody junior highs) is totally not in my wheelhouse.
