I have a coworker who has been out of control with the comments about my pregnancy! I just heated up my lunch and was sitting down to eat.
Her: Something smells good!
Me: Oh, thanks, it's a turkey burger
Her: That's what I liked about being pregnant, I could eat whatever I wanted.
Um, it's a turkey burger, not a full sized pizza or something? What the heck! And she makes comments like this all the time! Anyone else have a coworker like this?

What the heck! Im with you, its a turkey burger!!!! Not like you are sitting down and eating the whole left side of McDonalds menu! Geesh!

I think pregnancy is such a short and really special time in someones life, that pretty much anything about being around a pregnant person makes them reminisce about what it was like for them.
I am an NICU nurse, so I work around all women, most of them with teens/grown kids, and having 2 pregnant ladies (myself, and a co-worker of mine who is 21 weeks pregnant) around has brought the reminiscing to an all time high around the unit. I don't really find it bothers me, though, nor do I think there is any way to make it stop without looking like a preg-zilla!

That's weird, does she only eat salad constantly or something? I hated when people said you can eat whatever you want when you're pregnant. You're baby is getting nutrients from you, you still want to eat healthy. Plus, there is such a thing as gaining too much weight. I should know... I did it.

@artbee: I'm being scolded the opposite from my mom for eating carbs in the first trimester. It's the only thing that stays down right now and doesn't repulse me. Right now, my baby is currently made up of donuts, popcorn, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and fruit. I'll be really happy when I get eat the way I was before morning sickness and fatigue set in.

@MsMini: I wouldn't mind if she brought up positive things, but it seems like she only likes to remember the terrible things about pregnancy for the most part!
She was leaving yesterday and said, oh, get a good nights sleep, soon you won't be able to sleep at all. Completely unprovoked, I haven't complained at all about my pregnancy to coworkers. She also mentions all the time that she gained 90 lbs each time she was pregnant.
She also eats pretty normally from what I've seen, lots of noodle dishes and stuff like that, so I think it's just her weird way of relating to me now...

I think some people just feel that they HAVE to make some reference to your pregnancy every day, even if they have nothing specific to say. Thats what causes the dumb remarks.

@cascadecherub: I was like that too! Meat, fruit and veggies repulsed me. So I ate what my body would let me. Better then nothing, or puking.

@artbee: Seriously. I just hope that my little jellybean keeps growing despite my food aversions. I'm all about comfort foods and appetizer size stuff because that's all I can manage right now. I went to Trader Joe's last night and got mini pizzas and quiches as my quick source of something to eat with a little protein and nothing repulsive. I miss nights where I made our awesome meals of meat, veggie, and a starch. Now, all I want are starches and carbs to get through until I get like a human again.

@cascadecherub: I was like that in the first tri as well, it does pass! No shame in eating how you need to in order to feel semi-human. My midwife won't even talk nutrition until the second tri since so many people have food aversions at first.

ANNOYING! Turkey burgers are healthy, yo. 
So I worked with a guy who would make the rudest comments about my food choices too.
"Blah blah blah that'll make you gain weight."
Uh. I don't give a F. I'm pregnant and already gained 40 lbs. What's another 10.

Jeez!! On a turkey burger, really??
I know one of my female co-workers stares at me every single day when I walk by. She makes comments to me every once in a while about getting bigger. I just want to respond with, well, yeah and you are, too! (she's not pregnant). Sigh, I'm mean.

Yeah, that's so annoying. Recently, I had one of my coworkers tell me that I don't sound TOO EXCITED about my pregnancy. I mean just because I don't choose to gush and spill the beans about everything that's going on my personal life, why does that mean I'm not excited.
I've come to the conclusion, some people are just plain clueless.
