What would you do on a date night out that does not include....
The movies... something expensive like a sports game or Broadway play?
Hmm.... Maybe bowling and dinner?!

This time of year is there something Christmas-y you can do? A lights display maybe?

I find it so difficult to come up with things that don't include food! I might suggest that we bake cookies from recipes from his Grandmother.

Definitely dinner to a very not kid-friendly restaurant, maybe somewhere even like a jazz club or piano bar?

@MamaMoose: @blackbird: great ideas. But then I will feel guilty about doing something festive without LO! LOL
@looch: out!
@T-Mom: haha I love how you specify not kid friendly

@locavore_mama: haha yeah, can you tell I was planning my own date night (whenever I actually get one)?

Concert? A mini staycation at a fancy hotel/resort for a day/night. Enjoy the room, fancy restaurant, walk around the grounds, hot tub, massage - now I'm dreaming... lol

@T-Mom: haha come visit and I will babysit!
@shopaholic: LOL that sounds incredible. I do want to do that soon. But no $$ this time of year!

Does it have to be out of the house? A walk on the lake with a dessert picnic?
honeydew / 7488 posts
@locavore_mama: believe me, I want to.. I was just telling DH how we need to have real hot wings, not the sorry stuff our local sports bar serves..
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@looch: hehe yes. We don't get many opportunities for date nights out of the house. I love that idea in the warmer months!

Do you have a college or university near you? We went to a women's college bball game and it was inexpensive and super fun!

We always do drinks and dinner at our favorite bar/restaurant. A few times we have done a comedy show which is always lots of fun but the food/drinks aren't the best

@locavore_mama: We haven't had one date-night out with even a meal to ourselves yet, so I totally understand.

@locavore_mama: Dinner for 2 would be great! My DH doesn't trust anyone nearby with our baby yet so I don't see dinner for 2 in my near future. She goes everywhere with us right now. All of our trusted family live 45 min- 1 hour away.

Drinks + dinner! Or dinner + drinks. But we live in a city and don't need to drive home... I would also enjoy going to a museum without the babe. Lots of them are open late one night a week.

What was one of your favorite dates before baby? Try to recreate that in an affordable way. It'll be challenging, fun, and bring back some good memories too.
For DH and I, we enjoy driving (well he drives and I enjoy the scenery). The next date night (haha whenever that happens with two kids) we will go out for a drive and find the perfect location with an open sky and just stare at the stars and moon through our sunroof. Maybe pick up a simple meal beforehand for grub. Then just relax and keep warm with a blanket inside the car since it's cold this winter. Can you tell I'm dreaming?

@locavore_mama: by the way, I know your in-laws are in town, but I would love to do date night (or morning, or afternoon) swaps with you! You deserve time off
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@LovelyPlum: hahah awwww thanks. Come back to me when your LO is a little older. I don't babysit newborns! hehe But once s/he is out of newborn stage I'll be more than happy to watch him/her so you guys can go on a date!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@locavore_mama: LOL, fair. But the offer's still open for you guys, especially before our baby gets here!
