No never. Even if they are dirty haha. They are just gonna get dirty at dinner and then it's bath time. We do wash hands though.

We always change into house clothes, even grown ups lol. But...I'm an admitted germaphobe.

Daycares are cesspools of germs...like most places where groups of children congregate. When I worked at daycare I absolutely changed as soon as I got home. I also usually had dirty clothes from crafts or food, etc. For my kid (if she did go to daycare I'm not sure if I would bother changing her unless she was super dirty. I'd probably be too lazy. I think it's maybe more of a personal, adult, " I know how dirty I am in these clothes right now" that makes us want to change our clothes or our kid's clothes.

No, we wash hands soon after we get home but we don't need to create more laundry.

I know someone who's rule is socks off/changed and hands washed when you get home from daycare.

I change when I get home but only because I'm in my more dress up work clothes and want to be in comfy casual clothes to hang out around the house.

They've already been wearing those clothes all day - I don't see how it would make a difference. Plus- laundry!

I'm very particular about "outside" clothes, aka germaphobe, but this area in particular I am pretty OCD about. I wish I wasn't! Everyone changes when they come home. Please do not sit anywhere in your outside clothes, especially on any beds!!

Nope! We take off shoes and wash face/hands and call it good.

I don't change him. Sometimes I will remove his socks, but it's hit or miss if I replace them. After dinner I change him into PJs for the night. I can't imagine he would get more germs than what he already has by being at daycare all day.

We don't, but if we did and mine wanted to nurse, I would probably just strip them when we got home and nurse skin to skin then dress after. Frankly without a bath I doubt it helps kuch. Washing hands and faces would make a bigger germ impact.

Not usually. But I will if her clothes are stained/dirty or if they have put her in ugly daycare clothes (instead of her own backups).

nope, we just wash hands and she goes right into the highchair for dinner when she gets home, then the bath, so even if we changed her she would only be in those clothes for less than 30 minutes before her bath anyway. I already have a hard enough time finding clean/matching clothes for her to wear to daycare each day! : )

We dont really have time for this. We dont get home until 5-5:30 and then bedtime is at 7/7:30. They get dirty usually at the dinner table. So thats a full extra outfit dirtied in 2 hours! No way!

We don't do this, but I'm willing to try anything to minimize the likelihood of getting sick.

I think we need to start washing LO's hands really well when we get home too.

Nope. It never even occurred to me to wash her hands and face. Probably not a bad idea.

Like @Mrs. Lemon-Lime: said, they've already been exposed by being at daycare for 8ish hours a day, so I don't think changing clothes makes a big difference.

That being said, when my baby was under 6 months I changed my clothes and washed my hands when I got home from school or the store(s). I'm a teacher and these kids are germy!

When DD was that age, she went to bed at 6:30 and we generally didn't get home until 5:30/5:45 so we did change her...but it was more part of the bedtime routine than strictly because of daycare. As she's gotten older, no, we don't put on new clothes between getting home and bedtime -- but she generally strips her socks and pants off within 10 seconds of walking through the door anyway.

The one thing my MIL related to laundry is she saves their PJs after they wear them. I'm not sure why she does this. Maybe she thinks it's still clean and can be reused. I always put them in the hamper to be washed.

Yes, absolutely! Her clothes come home with stains of that day's food and play, so they normally need to be changed anyway. We wash her hands before she leaves school. Come home, change clothes, and a bath every night before bed.

No because I'm lazy (talking preschool not daycare, same idea though) BUT I actually have heard that during cold and flu season it is good to change clothes and bathe as soon as they get home. Forget where I read it but it was an expert opinion, not a random parent I know.
So it might not be common but I don't think he's wrong.
