This is our first, and he's planning to be at all of them. He works an hour away, too, but his job is pretty flexible (and he's the supervisor, that helps). We just plan my appointments as the first of the day or the last so he misses as little as possible. I think we'd both really like him there if there were to be bad news, and he was glad to be there for the surprise U/S we had at 9 weeks.

He came to the first appointment, GD screening, and ultrasounds. The other appointments were super quick and he commutes to work, so I didn't find it worth it. I always phoned him right after, as he was eager for an update.

@anonysquire: he just plays with the toys in the office, while LO watches. it's pretty amusing

All apps during the 1st and 2nd and third I switched practices and it was a pain to get to for him somi told him he didn't have to come. He did come to the last sonogram during the 3rd

Nope! He only came to appointments that were scheduled ultrasounds or tests (he came to my amniocentesis). He also came to L&D when I was admitted for pre-term labor at 22 weeks.

My dh came to as many as he could. He always came to US appts. Routine checks were boring, so I told him not to worry about it!!

He comes to all ultrasound ones and any that are because of worries from the doctor. He doesn't go to check ups

All ultrasounds. I think he came to one or two appointments, and anytime I panicked and went to the hospital! He has a very hectic work schedule, so that was best for us.

He came to all the appointments I deemed "important". It was too hard with his work schedule to come to all of them.

I scheduled them all based on his work schedule, and do the same with LO's so he goes to everything.
As for pregnancy ones, I think the 20 week (the big one around that time) was probably the most important for him to experience that ultrasound since it was so thorough.

So far, (28wks) he's come to all & plans to continue to come to the rest as well.

he came for the first three doc appts i think - to meet the doctor and to receive the results of the blood work (i was nervous to get the results). He also came for my first two ultrasounds. it was always a big deal to take time off work though, so after he didn't come to any more appointments. I didn't really care either as the appointments were over so fast most of the time.

DH came to one early one to hear the heartbeat and 2 out of 3 ultrasounds. We didn't feel it was worth it for him to leave work as well. If there had been any concerns or if I really wanted him there he would of come.

DH is determined to come to every appointment. So far, he has only had to miss one!

DH has only come to the dating and NT scan so far. He'll be coming to the anatomy scan and my GD test (just in case I have a negative reaction) and we're looking at him attending a midwife appointment around 28 weeks just so he gets to know the lady who will be all up in my business LOL.
It's very cute though, we've joined our local Parents' Centre (they run antenatal and postnatal classes) and they have a sleep consultant coming in to give pregnant and new mums sleep tips. I'm teaching and can't go to the session - so DH is going to go. What a sweetie!

DH came to the initial confirm the pregnancy appointment for both pregnancies. After that, he went to any appointments where I was having ultrasounds.
If you are low risk, most appointments will probably be pretty boring, weight, blood pressure, a few questions, maybe hear the heartbeat (which is not boring!) and not much else. If I was having complications, I would want DH there so he could ask any questions I might not think of.

So far he has come to the first appt, the NT scan, and the early anatomy scan. He plans to come to the full anatomy scan in 3-4 weeks too.
He's not coming to the other routine office visits since there isn't much point. My dr's office is much closer to my job than to his, so it's not that convenient for him.

My DH attended all but 2 due to be out of town for work. It was important to me that he be there with me since it would be impacting both our lives.

DH works an hour away.
He only came to the ultrasounds. It didn't make sense for him to miss half a day of work for a 15 minute weight and blood pressure check.
