I've been on More Milk Plus (tincture, tastes TERRIBLE) for over a week now, and I have YET to notice any difference. It's totally bumming me out.
If you used More Milk Plus, did it work? How long did it take to notice a difference? How much of an increase did it give you?

I noticed more within a couple days but I also started the tea and fenugreek at the same time.

i'm curious about this. about a month ago i was worried about my supply and considered getting MMP but held off because of the cost and what i heard about the taste. i don't pump quite enough to cover LO's daycare bottles (i'm a few ounces short), but if lots of people say that it works, i'll reconsider!

@edelweiss: I've HEARD wonderful things about it, but have yet to notice a difference myself. 
I'm just kind of hoping it takes me longer to see the increase, but the increase is still coming!

I had to take 6 capsules a day rather than the 4 recommended so maybe up your dose a little and see if that helps. It worked within a few days for me. The increase wasn't drastic but it was noticeable.

@pelikila: maybe I should try upping it....I've been doing 4x/day along with fenugreek and mothers tea and I haven't noticed anything drastic...but them again I only pump 1x/day and at night after her last feeding (she STTN and I don't want to go too many hours before feeding again). And I know my production is less at night...

@pelikila: Oh really?? Okay, maybe I should try going up to 6 instead of the 4 I'm doing. Although I'm wondering if such a slight increase is even worth it... this stuff tastes so terrible...

I take fenugreek and didn't notice an increase until after at least a full week. Maybe day 8 or so?
And it was an increase of just a few ounces here or there. But enough to make me happy!
I noticed that when I am stressed or don't sleep well, I still get poor output no matter what. Fenugreek can't help me there.

@Adira: probably!! Can you give yourself a mental break somehow? Is it possible to not count your ounces for a few days? Just accept that you'll get what you get and take a little pressure off yourself?

@cmomma17: haha, yeah, it's hard, because I'm BARELY getting the 15oz I need for Xander's daycare AND my husband keeps pressuring me to send more. So I feel like I'm constantly thinking about it!!!
I'm hoping to get a new pump soon though, and maybe that will do a better job than my current one (or even as good of a job, just quicker) and then maybe I can stress about it less. Now I'm like "Ahhhh!!! I only have 30 minutes and I have to get 6oz out this session!!!! FREAK OUT!!!" lol

Haven't tried MMP but I do take Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle every day. When I started them I was just taking the tinctures and was still having supply issues. My LC told me to take the capsules as, in her experience, the capsules have much better success than the tinctures. Did the trick for me 
ETA: Not sure what the recommended dosage is for MMP, but for Fenugreek/Blessed Thistle my LC recommends 3 capsules of each, 3x day. That's the level where I saw the most improvement.

@hergreenapples: Really!!! When I was buying MMP (which the first two ingredients are fenugreek and blessed thistle), I was told the tincture is better than the capsules!! Gahhh, conflicting information!!!

The increase was within a few days, but it was slight. Really slight. I was more successful with adding a pump session than using MMP, honestly.

Same as @T-Mom. I took the liquid and there was a slight increase. Not enough for me to say it was a noticeable difference. I also drank mother's milk tea, added a pump session and drank a TON of water. I think adding pump session and drinking water helped the most.

I took the pills and had a small difference in the first week, but a huge difference after a month. I'm not sure about the liquid.

But then he's all like "We can supplement with formula." And I know I'm being irrational about formula, but we've EBF for 5 months now, I don't want to supplement when I don't think we have to! Gahhhhh

@Adira: I only ever took the capsules, and I did 2x a day. I also drastically increased my water intake (added about 30 extra ounces), started eating oatmeal bars for breakfast, and stopped drinking peppermint tea/coffees. I think all of that combined showed an increase for me after a few days. I was able to pump more milk in less time. But I think stress may be affecting you. When I get stressed at work/focus on how long it's taking/how many ounces I've gotten, I notice I pump a lot less. When I ignore the pump and read HB or other websites, I always end up with more.
And tell you husband to butt out. If he's really that upset about it, have him schedule a ped visit, take the day off, and hear from the pediatrician that X is in great health!

@Adira: But the issue is that you are stressing yourself out to make him happy for no reason. Your supply is great (I could NEVER get 15 oz in a day. I was lucky if I hit 8 oz). Your kid is perfectly fine. And by stressing yourself out, you are setting yourself up to lower your supply. Stop worrying and feed your baby.
Send your hubs to a breastfeeding class or an LC. Tell him to bring you the research that says you need to do this. Then make sure that it isn't formula feeding based.

@mewtill: Maybe I need to drink more water... And can caffeine affect milk production? Maybe I need to cut back on that too!
@T-Mom: Well, I nurse Xander at 9:00, so I'm not sure I'd get much out if I pump after that. In the past I've only gotten MAYBE an ounce if I'm lucky. And I'd hate to stay up too late to pump after that because I often have to get up at 4:30.

@brownie: haha, seriously. My husband has done ZERO research. He just knows that Xander's in a lower percentile, so that makes him think that he needs more milk! That and when his FIL and SMIL watched Xander over the weekend, SMIL said she thought he needed more milk, but he was STILL STTN, so I'm not buying it. But Hubs is now CONVINCED that Xander's STARVING. Ugh!

@Adira: ah ok. Well, just something to keep in mind. Even if you aren't getting a lot out, you are stimulating your body to produce more, so over time, you will. Definitely lack of sleep impacts supply too, so there is a balance. good luck!

@T-Mom: That's a good point! And lately it feels like Xander's not drinking as much at his 9:00 p.m. feeding, so maybe I could pump after and get some out. Every ounce helps, so I probably should stop slacking and just do it!

@Adira: My son was Failure to Thrive. He was born at the 50th percentile and dropped to the 0.5 percentile (below the 1 percent) before he was 6 months old. Plummetted. And my pediatrician didn't care at all (yeah that's a whole other story).
Breastfed babies tend to find their true curve/grow slower than formula fed babies after about 4 months. So, what your son is doing is perfectly NORMAL. ALSO, check the percentiles on a breastfed chart (see the WHO) instead of a combo or formula fed chart. You will see a difference. So again - STOP stressing and STOP trying to please everyone else. Do what you need to do for your son (which is again NOT stressing and feed him how you have been).

@brownie: Thanks, honey! If it was just daycare or even daycare and SMIL, I'd just tell them to STFU and not worry about it. The fact that my HUSBAND is pressuring me is what's stressing me out. He's acting like I'M being totally irrational and unwilling to do what's best for Xander and he keeps insisting that we TRY to give him more milk, even though we have no reason (in my mind) for why we would try that. It's just frustrating because when I push back against his suggestion to try more milk, he acts like I'm just ignoring him and not listening at all. I don't really know what to do to make him feel HEARD and reassure him that Xander's fine without actually DOING what he wants. And I can't just send more milk because I don't have more milk to send. AND even if I DID send more milk, the daycare providers let him guzzle a bottle in under 5 minutes, so he's bound to drink however many ounces I send anyway, regardless of whether he really needs them or not! But Hubs is taking the guzzling as yet MORE proof that Xander's hungry, because if he wasn't so hungry, he'd drink the bottle slower on his own! Ugh...

I've had luck with lactation cookies, I've never tried More Milk Plus. I'm struggling with daycare thinking he needs more. He's there 9 hours and is eating 14oz. I send 12oz of bm and then I left those 2oz ready to feed formula bottles with them too... He eats all the bm plus a ready to feed. We went through this with my mom and he eventually only took 8oz in an 8 hour day, so I'm hoping once he gets adjusted, he'll stop eating so much! He's eating 4oz every 2.5 hours and then the 2oz of formula later in the afternoon, which just seems like too much...

@septemberlove: How long does he usually go between eating at home? I would think if he was only taking 8oz with your mom, he wouldn't be needing SO much more at daycare. Do you know if they are doing paced feedings? Do you know if he's spitting up any of it there? It's also possible he's getting fussy for other reasons and they're just feeding him even though he's not totally hungry yet.
