LO's is hanging by a thread so I'm patiently waiting for it to fall off. Once it does, should I clean out his belly button with alcohol and a qtip? Or soap and water? Or nothing at all?

I didn't do anything special and just bathed her.

I think I still only bathed around it for a few more days.

I cleaned up with alcohol, but her's held on for a long time! haha so by that time it was really gross.

I cleaned it a little with peroxide cause it looked a little gross. But then just water.

We did nothing...the pedi cleaned it out at his appt with an alcohol swab.

Both times, I've used alcohol for a few days after just to make sure no infection set in or something. Em had a bit of a hernia on hers so they treated it with silver nitrate.

Nothing, though our pedi said we could use a little alcohol when we got to the "hanging by a thread" point.

we had to have hers cauterized, cause it fell off too early

I did alcohol and a q-tip to get the crusties out.

Alcohol and q-tip, then her first bath!

His was still a bit "wet" inside when his stump fell off so the pedi said to use a q-tip and alcohol for a few days. We only had to do that for about a week.

I gave him a bath and washed it with a little bit of soap.
