Our birth classes are this weekend. Did you enjoy yours and learn a lot during them? So far the booklet we were sent looks... Interesting. If anyone makes us stand like posed 1980's wedding pictures to practice labor assistance, we might need to have words.

I loved my childbirth class. I thought they were very good about giving us all of the pros and cons to medicated and natural birth to help us make our own decisions. And they gave good tips on positions during labor and things to help relieve the pain. My favorite part was the beginning, they had us separate into boys and girls and we each came up with a list of questions/fears and the teacher went through all of them with us.

I enjoyed ours and got a lot of useful information out of it. It definitely helped ease some of my fears around childbirth.

I can't say I loved our classes. I'm glad that we went because knowledge is confidence, but I don't feel I took too much away from it that I hadn't already learned myself. For us, it was definitely the most useful for my husband. He hasn't been one to read or research much on his own so it was a great little crash course for him.
If I could do it again, I would probably have opted for a Bradley or some other type of class that wasn't affiliated with our hospital... ours was just a little too watered down and a lot of time was wasted with stupid questions that were given way too much air-time (OMG, my vagina has to stretch how much?!! Will it ever be normal again!?!)

I didn't particularly find mine that helpful and didn't remember anything when it came time to deliver. It was put on by the hospital and focused on the stages your body goes through during labor but not much on how to actually handle labor. They also did a segment on nutrition which would have been more helpful when I first got the BFP not when I was almost 9 months into the pregnancy.

I enjoyed our birth class. Mine was really good about providing information about different birthing options without any judgement. Also, mine was taught by a nurse who had seen hundreds of pregnancies - and so she was able to impart a lot of personal experience on the pros and cons of different birthing methods. Before the class, we had already read up on all the different birthing options, but I think we just felt calmer about the whole delivery process because we felt more informed after the class.
Also, our class gave information on infant care - which was great since we knew nothing about babies. Simple tips on swaddling, diaper changing (like putting a new diaper underneath the baby before removing the old diaper), etc ... things that seem like common sense when someone is telling them to you but maybe not something that you'd know to do beforehand. -
I loved our birth classes! We took baby care, breastfeeding, childbirth, etc. Our teacher was really funny so that helped!

I like my birth class bc like others said it discussed a lot of basic stuff that was good for my husband to hear. Also it was nice meeting other couples and now I am friends with one of the girls I met at my birth an our babies are 1 month apart.
