I had a glass of wine at a wedding. I was the MOH at one of them. I also had glass of wine on our anniversary, and a glass of wine or champagne every couple of weeks toward the end. I had both ppl giving me the evil eye and ppl offering me shots etc when I was very visibly pregnant. So somewhere between five to ten over the whole pregnancy.

I didn't find out I was pregnant with LO until I was 6 weeks along...I drank a lot the weekend before my BFP.

Small sips here and there, a 1/4 glass of champagne at NYE at 20 weeks pregnant, and probably 2 or 3 1/4 glasses of wine over the past few months.

I had a few sips of wine at my wedding - I was 17 weeks along when we were hitched. Haven't had anything, since.

Pre-pregnancy, I was an occasional/weekend/wine with dinner drinker.

I haven't & will continue to abstain. Isn't worth the risk to me.

Several people have said it's not worth the risk, but I am just curious what risk we're talking about. FAS? Or something else?

    Nope!

    I was a regular drinker pre-preg (maybe 3-4 drinks a week).

When I announced at Christmas Eve (5W) we were at my moms and they had opened two amazing bottles of wine that I really wanted to taste. My step dad is a OBGYN and said absolutely have a sip here and there in the first tri. He says a beer or glass of wine once a week in the third tri is perfectly safe as well. He's been working for 35 years so I trust his judgement and experience!

I only have had a sip of DHs wine here and there since my 4 sips Christmas Eve, however as I approach the third tri I think I may splurge for a beer or glass of wine a week from here on out. I wouldn't go beyond 1 drink in a day for sure...probably even more than 1 a week.

I didn't drink during the first trimester. I did drink a glass of wine (spread out over an hr or two) in the second and third trimesters for special occasions.

Nothing during the first trimester, but after that, I'd have the occasional small glass of wine - maybe once every two to three weeks if that. I did my research and made an educated decision (supported by my GP) and felt completely comfortable with my choice.

Nope, but I hardly ever drank pre-pregnancy so it wasn't a big deal for me.

I will have a small sip of dh's drink every few days if it looks really good. Other than that sometimes I'll have 1/4 glass of wine but dh starts to hyperventilate when I drink even that much and snatches the rest away to finish himself lol! I know it bothers him so I only drink if he's there so at least he feels like he has done control over it and it's no more than once every week or two.

@sloaneandpuffy: I'm not totally sure but I would guess it is more that if something were to go wrong with the baby, would you always question if that one drink played a role? But I may be misinterpreting!

@Modern Daisy: haha that's cute! My dh would probably do the same if I tried to drink too much!

@Mrs D: my dad is a doctor and says the same...I definitely wouldn't be able to resist a few sips of amazing wine!

It's really great getting so many different perspectives on this!

I drank pretty regularly before getting pregnant (mostly socially on the weekends) and at 34 weeks, I haven't had any alcohol.

Nothing in the first trimester. Maybe once every two weeks in the second and probably once a week during the third. It was usually a half glass of wine, maybe a beer.

My drinking amounted to taking a sip of my husband's beer when he tired a new one that he thought I would really like. Over the course of my entire pregnancy it probably amounted to two beers.

I honestly haven't even thought about drinking alcohol. It's just one of those things I thought you didn't do during pregnancy.

I drink a few times a week now (having some wine right now!) but when I'm pregnant I won't at all. I'm such a worrier that I'd be SO paranoid if I did.

I had a sip of Champagne on 2 occasions (Christmas and New Years). I wasn't comfortable with anything more.

Not even a drop. Good God I miss my wine ans mojitos!!! I cook with wine a TON just so I can enjoy the flavor sans alcohol. Lol.

One day I was drinking grapefruit juice out of a wine glass because we needed to do dishes... okay and part of me wanted to trick my brain into thinking it was oh so delicious wine... it didn't work. Mr. Hedgie freaked because he thought it was real.

I was a casual social drinker before and didn't drink during at all. I just felt like there was so much out of my control why not do whatever I could that was actually in my control (no alcohol, sushi, etc.) Even if maybe it did nothing and the risk was so small I just figured why chance the things in my control.
