Did you have a lavish proposal? Or, a quiet, simple one?

    We were moving into a new town home the next day and on our way to dinner he said let's stop by the new place just to see if everything is ready for tomorrow. When we got there he had a little picnic with champagne and goodies. Then he proposed. Wen I accepted he gave me a package that had a whole bunch of wedding magazines in it. I loved it!

    It was just us but we were on a mountain at the Austrian alps in Lech. It was pretty awesome! Funny thing was, we had a huge fight at the beginning of our trip a few days earlier.

    So many great engagement stories! My husband proposed publicly at a restaurant where we were celebrating my birthday with my friends. I loved having my friends there. We returned to the same restaurant for our rehearsal dinner.

    @chopsuey119: 12 hours?!

    Ours was simple. I had picked up the ring from the jewelers (at the time he was working out of state 2 weeks out of every month) and so I was wearing the ring around the house when I was home alone LOL! When he got home we planned a nice dinner out and before we left he sheepishly said "Hey babe...I don't know what to do...." I asked "About what?" "The ring box is too big to fit in my pocket......" I CRACKED up (we both knew he was going to ask that night at dinner, NO surprise here, but I told him he HAD to get down on his knee and ask since nothing else about our relationship was traditional). The second we got sat down (before we even had waters!) he got on his knee and asked me. It's not exactly a dream proposal, but it's VERY him, haha! Unorganized and a little awkward

    It was very simple. DH took me to a pier where we had talked on our first date. He proposed right where I had told him that I wondered what it would be like to kiss him. He had to work a few hours right after so I got to wander around campus (I'd already graduated) looking for friends to tell after I called my mom. He called his parents after he got off of work and told them I'd said yes.

    A bit lavish with a surprise trip to Tuscany. He proposed in a vineyard. Loved it!

    @babyjmama: dh and I only knew each other 2 months and had met once before we got married! People thought we were crazy, but we knew we were perfect for e/o!

    It was very simple and totally out of the blue. He started acting so weird one Saturday morning and being all on the edge of crying and stuff for like an hour, I was convinced he was going to break up with me! Haha, nope, he was just terrified I was going to say "no". (like there was any chance of that happening!)

    Simple! Just us in our house on a random night and then he took me to the movie Sherlock Holmes!

    I think it would qualify as lavish? DH proposed to day after our 6 month anniversary. He asked me in the morning to be done work by three. We hopped in the car and drove to the outside of our city, I thought we were going for a round of golf. Turns out we were going for a helicopter ride! So cool - it was something we had mentioned we both wanted to do. While we were up in the air, following the river that goes through our city, he turns and looks at me - I thought he was super terrified of being in the helicopter. He quickly recovers and with tears in his eyes asks me to marry him. I was 100% not expecting it at all, we had talked about marriage but I didn't think it would happen so soon. Afterwards we went to his parents house to share the news and then onto a delicious dinner at a beautiful restaurant. It was a very memorable day

    He asked my sister permission to marry me as I don't have a Dad and we're best friends. She said yes and gave the ok on ring. What a guy!

    Moonlit beach in Jamaica. But we were the only people on the beach. So the location was lavish, but the proposal was intimate.
