I've always been a fan of cereal, but that's all I want to eat this pregnancy. And lots of milk!

Out of nowhere I've been craving Cheerios. Specifically Cheerios. I hadn't eaten a bowl of cereal in like 2 years lol.

@BabyBoecksMom: I have had so much cereal too! Like you I have always been a fan but never ate it every day or anything. We currently have four different kinds which is really unusual for us!

French dressing. I was so desperate for it the one day and we didn't have any salad/veggies to put it on that I considered eating the dressing by itself. It was that bad. Luckily I decided against it

For me it's more strange aversions- not into pizza or bacon at all during this pregnancy.

Yes! First, burgers. I don't eat red meat. I don't even like red meat. And yet apparently this girl is a carnivore because I cannot eat enough cheeseburgers. Second, cereal! I've never liked cereal, but I bought a box for my FIL when he was coming into town and it was like it called to me from the cupboard. I ended up eating almost the whole box before he even got here and had to go buy him another one. So weird.

I had a spell where I couldn't get enough oranges! That's passed, and the only thing I can really think of currently is fish has been sounding good more than normal

Chips. I have to not buy them or I'll eat them all. Other than that all food sounds gross.

Chicken, and I ate it!
Prior to that I was a strict vegetarian for 13 years!

With #1, it was a taco salad. One night, I desperately needed one. I usually don't like them.

I craved Lucky Charms for a couple weeks! Never gave in to that one though!
I also craved berries while I was pregnant. I like them but not the way I LOVED them when pregnant!

@Mae: I never ate red meat before pregnancy either...but I am pretty sure I had steak or a burger twice a week during pregnancy! I listened to my body on that one.
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
All I wanted was white carbs and fried/fatty meat for a solid 2-3 weeks. This is odd because I did not want vegetables AT ALL. Like, just having steamed veggies on the same plate grossed me out. Usually I go with whole grains and lots of veggies and mix it up with the meat preparations but for a while it either needed to be breakfast sausage or FRIED crispy meat. Nuggets, chicken katsu, chicken fried steak, chicken tenders, fish sticks, panko-crusted anything.

I had some weird cravings/ phases. First trimester I couldn't eat anything sweet, which is weird for me. I ate toast with cheese every morning. Then it was green grapes, ranch dressing (luckily not together) and then in the third trimester I was obsessed with pineapple fruit Popsicles
honeydew / 7916 posts
I've had a lot of clementines, but that's kind of normal. My thing lately has been cream of mushroom soup over rice! Zero nutrition but it doesn't get stuck in my throat or make my nausea worse.

Carbs with all pregnancies, at least in the beginning.
Right now, peanut butter crackers are the only thing I eat.

Egg sandwiches. Like the egg/bacon/cheese muffin yup sandwiches. I *despise* these type of sandwiches, but I craved them when pregnant with E!

I craved orange juice when I was pregnant with M. I usually don't really like it. I was drinking tons of it and then having terrible heartburn but still drinking it!

@autumnlove: I ate Taco Bell probably once a week my third trimester. It was so good! I haven't had it in 2 years...no cravings after having LO
@BabyBoecksMom: I like cereal but never really ate it since I was in college. I ate boxes of cereal when I was pregnant and loads of milk. I would get my cereal from costco bc I a giant bowl everyday.
I also craved OJ which I like bit don't drink on a daily basis. Also, bagels and cream cheese which I rarely eat.

@sandy: thinking about Taco Bell makes me sick!

@lemondrop: I've had some crazy aversions, too! I didn't eat an egg or a banana until I was almost 16 weeks or so-the thought of them made me so sick. I normally love both, and I have been eating them like crazy recently!
I also had a big time hot dog phase, and a few weeks where I probably ate 4 clementines a day. Throughout the entire time, I've also craved yogurt and oatmeal. There have been days where that's all I want to eat.

I went through a huge faze of wanting milk when I was pregnant. Out of the jug. haha. It lasted for a while. For the last trimester it was peaches. Fresh peaches, peach green tea lemonade from Starbucks. Then I bought these beautiful fresh organic peaches from the farmers market. I took a huge bite right into it.. the core broke open and out crawled massive bugs. *shudder* Like creepy crawly bugs. *shudder* I went into labor 2 days later ( just over 2 weeks early) and I'm pretty sure it's because I basically had a heart attack that day.

Sweet tea. Pre-pregnancy, I HATED sweet tea, but now, I can't get enough of it!!

I wanted pickles which I normally hate & Burger King...which I also dislike greatly! hhaa

Blueberry anything. Didn't matter if it was the berries themselves or creamcheese, or bagels, or muffins, or popsicles, or syrup, etc. As long as it had a blueberry flavor of some sort, I wanted it.

Yes milk and cereal for me too. Specifically frosted mini wheats. I haven't eaten them since, and I was never a milk fan otherwise. Also, because I was anemic during pregnancy I craved ice chips and the smell of clorox cleaning wipes. So freaking strange.
ETA second trimester all I wanted was taco bell crunchy tacos. I NEVER eat fast food. Weird.

Cheetos and really good strawberry ice cream. Not together though
cantaloupe / 6171 posts
I have had no weird cravings! I've def had aversions (eggs, melted cheese except in mac-n-cheese format, salad/raw vegetables for a little while during the first tri, onions), but the things that I crave are completely normal for me to crave: ice cream, cupcakes, pasta. I keep waiting for something random to come up, but not yet!

So far this pregnancy: cereal and milk, loaded baked potatoes and Thai food, spicier the better!

I was mainly a vegetarian prior to pregnancy. Now I am craving meat! Cheerios, blueberries and anything slushy is also pretty consistently amazing right now. Oh yea and ketchup.... even mentioning ketchup makes me want it.
apricot / 402 posts
@pelikila: haha! What is with the blueberries?! I am the same way. How strange! Must be something amazing about blueberries.
