I had a LEEP only 6 months before getting pregnant and although it is noted all over my chart, no one seemed overly concerned. I started spotting intermittently around 13 weeks so I had a few cervix checks but nothing even close to biweekly. I think they checked it twice by vaginal exam - @10w initial appointment and at 13w because I had the spotting for several days. It was also checked by ultrasound @18w and 25w. By the last ultrasound the spotting had stopped and everything checked out so I haven't had anything further (almost 31 weeks now).
I think some doctors are more cautious than others. Good luck and I hope that cervix stays strong!

I had a LEEP 6 years ago and I had no issues...My doctor was more concerned wtih the potential scar tissue that can be associated with the proceedure than premature dialation, but the scar tissue turned out to be a non issue too!! (I only labored for 4 hours and 6 minutes!)

I have the same thing. I have to go in for biweekly (you had the right word!) ultrasounds between 16 and 24 weeks. But she said that if, at my 20-week anatomy scan, things still look good, then she'll just stop doing them. She said most people are showing her signs by 20 weeks. I'm not overly concerned, she also told me it's not exactly common and it sounded like even if it does happen, they're monitoring it appropriately so if I do start showing signs (it's from the baby's weight), they can take precautions so nothing bad happens. I'm happy I brought it up, I almost forgot.

Hey! Sorry, I know I'm really late on this, but I just joined. I had two LEEP's, and a cold knife cone biopsy for cervical cancer almost five years ago, which also left me with an incompetent cervix. My doctor is doing checks and ultrasounds every two weeks and in my 14th week (I'm 12 now) I have to have a cerclage (sew the cervix shut) for the remainder of the pregnancy. Has you dr said anything about doing that?

I'm mainly nervous because I have to have an epidural at 14 weeks....and the cerclage itself comes with a lot of possible side effects. I'm hoping for none, but was hoping someone else had some advice/experience with it!

@ladyfingers: I wanted to, but unfortunately, the wait for doctors in this town is craaaaazy. We just moved here three months ago (literally, like 1-2 weeks before I got pregnant!) so we're stuck with who we have. We're trying to move back home now, so I can go back to my old ob/gyn (and other reasons!).
