We are undecided as to whether we will have a 3rd child.

With our first, he was small for gestational age (5 lb 5 oz and 17.5 inches....constitutionally small his whole life though).

With our second, I had suspected IUGR from 28 weeks on so they monitored me with biweekly ultrasounds and biophysical profiles. Ultimately at 38w I was induced for IUGR. He was born 5 lb 6 oz and 19 inches. He seems to have caught up on weight (probably close to 10 lb at 2m and 23 inches though he hasn't had his well visit). It remains to be seen whether he will also just be constitutionally small like his brother and parents or whether his size at birth was truly the result of IUGR.

I'm curious of others experiences. If you were diagnosed with IUGR with one pregnancy did it happen again? Our decision to have a third isn't based on my IUGR diagnosis, I'm really more curious than anything else. My doctor said I would likely be monitored again in a future pregnancy.
