We have not yet, but I have been meaning to go to the police/fire department and have it checked out, we just have to make an appointment or else go to one of the inspection sites when they have an event.
Did you have your LO's car seat inspected? Was it installed correctly to begin with?

We had our infant base inspected before LO was born. The sheriff said the base straps weren't pulled tight enough.

We took ours to be inspected at BRU.they were installed correctly, but I learned a lot about our car seat and general car seat safety that I'm glad I did their little "class".

My work sponsored an event and I had my seat inspected. DH had not installed it correctly at all. The main thing was that it was not nearly tight enough. I have since done a lot more research on installation and feel a lot better about my skills. I will probably go get an inspection for my new configuration soon!

We had the bases installed by the police station and the carseat itself had a mandatory inspection at the hospital.

Yep. The base was inspected at the police station. Hubby installed it correctly. He was so proud of himself. lol

We are going to have it installed by DH's coworker at the police department. We're both too scared to do it ourselves

Ours was inspected at our neighborhood children's store (they're certified) and they walked DH thru the installation.

I am a Car Seat Technician so I did our installs but I have seen too many incorrect installs to not encourage any/everyone to get a fitting and education. I recommend going to an individual inspection/fitting where they are providing hands on education- it is so much more personalized to your variables- seat, car, and type of seatbelts/LATCH system.

Yes, the actually installed it for me because I was in my 3rd trimester when I went. I really should get our convertible carseat inspected.
