My mom did, it was her way of bonding with each baby. DH's mom and grandma would talk to my tummy and feel kicks. A few stranger came up to me to touch my belly but I never said anything. I feel rude saying "no" when people have good intentions.

Not too many stranger have rubbed my belly, but I always let them. I don't love it, but they mean well. My poor mom rubs my belly all the time in hopes of feeling a kick, but still hasn't felt anything. Baby girl is shy!

I let DH and a few close friends and family members rub my belly. 1-2 strangers rubbed it but I didn't say anything!

I don't WANT people to rub my stomach, but I let them because I feel awkward telling them off. Only Hubs family has rubbed my belly though. I think if it was a stranger or anyone else, I'd feel more comfortable telling them off, but I just don't know how to tell Hubs' family to cut it out without coming off like a bitch.

I HATE it though - it's MY belly and no one should touch it without my permission!!! It's crazy how entitled people seem to feel that just because you're growing a baby, somehow that gives them access to your personal space and can just TOUCH you! Honestly, I think it's super creepy when Hubs family touches me, but I don't know how to tell them to stop without hurting feelings. Luckily, I've only had to see them a couple times during the pregnancy, so I don't have to deal with it all the time!

Certain people only if they asked. I hated it when people touched my belly without asking.

No one has really tried without asking. I actually asked my mom to put her hand there so she could feel the kicks! Same goes for my sister, and obviously DH has felt it numerous times. One of my coworkers asked if he could (he's a middle aged man!) and I felt weird saying no so I let him... it was awkward.

Pretty much only family ever touched my belly, and I didn't mind. My BIL/SIL were really funny about it...when they first saw me with a big, full belly (7 months as opposed to 4 months), they both dropped down to their knees to kiss and coo at my belly (with SIL it happened at an airport, lol).

I only had one stranger touch me. I was about 7 months along, we were driving home from a family beach vacation and stopped to get food. The place was packed, so we got it to go, and as we were threading out through the crowd one of the cashiers comes out from behind the counter (leaving a huge line of people unattended), grabs my arm to physically stop me from walking, slaps her hand on my stomach and informs me that I was going to have a little girl. DH grabbed my other arm and growled at her to "let go of (my) wife" and pulled me out. I didn't react at all--she caught me off guard.

I let people feel lo kick. I think my mom, dad, fil, mil, sister, sil, and grandma all felt lo kick. It was exciting for everyone, i didnt mind. My grandma did tell me once to make lo move so she could feel. If only I had that kind of power.

I liked people touching my belly, but more towards the end like 7/8/9 months... I totally let my co-workers, but they always asked first. I loved my belly and knew it wouldn't be there much longer.... Glad no strangers touched it though!

People usually didnt ask before they rubbed, so what was I supposed to do? Tell them to get their hands the F off of me?

@Rainbow Sprinkles: just say "now I get to rub yours" (with a smile). Everyone gets the picture and no one does it a second time.

lol yeah that article sounded awful. It would make me mad too. It's your body/baby you get to choose! Just like those that say just cause you have a baby you need to let everyone hold the baby. My friends baby was hospitalized at 3 months because of a virus contracted from being passed around at their church. For her next child she said you don't care about people being offended when you know your child's health is at stake. She let her mom, her husband and me hold her baby and that was it!!

Oh, and I let my family/close friends touch my belly. I always be sure to ask my friends first!

Family and friends - totally fine. Randoms? Weird.

When she was kicking I would ask family and a few friends if they wanted to feel. My dad was so cute, he got all misty eyed when he felt her kick for the first time I didn't have one single random stranger try and touch my belly though.
