I received a set of Sandra Boynton books at my shower and I bought a few Seuss books before LO 1 was born.
We have a lot more these days!! I don't mind the clutter of books and we just need more shelves.

Yes. I have a degree in English literature, I love books, my mom is a preschool teacher who's career focus is early literacy...so I've had kids books for years.

My mom saved all of the kids books I had as a child. Some I actually had kept out on my bookshelves (mostly Shel Silverstein, Jeff Moss and Calvin and Hobbs!). So we had lots of books before baby was born. Like had to buy a new bookshelf when we unpacked all the boxes. And still have boxes in the closet of older chapter books. I sure hope this kid likes to read!

I collected and was gifted lots during pregnancy.
The only one I owned prior was The Giving Tree which I have to M several years ago. It was the first book read to her.

I've had a collection of Shel Silverstein books since college. And my dad kept a box of my books from childhood that he gave to LO after she was born- mostly Dr Seuss and Berenstein Bears books.
