How many weeks were you?
I scheduled an elective gender scan at 16 weeks, I'm too impatient. I still have to wait 3 more weeks, it's killing me!

I was going to schedule one at 17 weeks on our anniversary, but it turns out that my MFM office schedules them at 17 weeks anyway. But it ended up not being a big deal because we found out early via the maternit21 test.

@lilteacherbee: My dr makes you wait until 20 weeks! That is not happening!

I didn't pay for it, but I got it because my husband runs an u/s lab! Buuuuut, I went in at 13w (too early) and the lady said girl.
Then to confirm, I went in & saw the same lady at my husband's office around 17w and she said absolutely a boy.
My OB did my routine gender scan at 18+w and she also confirmed boy.
So, never go too early!

@TurtleDoves: That's what I'm scared of lol. I'm hoping it will be accurate at 16 weeks, I know that's still pretty early though.

We did 15 weeks at a Stork Vision, the earliest they allowed it. We will absolutely do it again this time if we don't find out at our NT scan, which will probably be too early. It was a great experience and worth every penny!

We did and had it scheduled for 15 weeks with a 3D/4D ultrasound -- it was totally worth it! Definitely a boy, later confirmed at the 20 week anatomy scan

I don't really understand the impatience! But... We were team green so we found out at 39+6--- when I delivered.
Did you guys open your Christmas presents early too? we may find out for our second but oy at the normal anatomy scan.

@Foodnerd81: are you kidding lady?! People don't even bother wrapping y gifts anymore because I'm not waitin!

@Springtime: we had one done @ 16 weeks and it was totally worth it! I'm super impatient and I was absolutely speechless when we found out she was a girl. I was sooooo excited!

Yep we did it at 15w. Totally worth it but I think next time we can wait til the anatomy scan!

We paid for ours at 17 weeks because I couldn't wait until 20. We got so much more time to look at him in that scan than in my ob's 20 week one. I'd totally do it again but I've heard my state is working to make it illegal to obtain one without a doctor's order.

Yep! I was too impatient to wait until 22 weeks. We went at 16.

I was happy to wait... I was already paranoid that they were wrong so having everything more developed was better for me. This time no gender scan, were team green.

@lemondrop: Glad to hear you had a good experience there! That's where we are going!

I'm going at 17 weeks instead of 20. I'll get more time to see the baby and I just can't wait any longer. I'd go today if I could!!

@Springtime: Aside from baby kicks, these scans were my favorite part of pregnancy!! They do give discounts for repeat customers, we went back at 31 weeks and got great images for way less money than we expected. Their machine was so much better than my ob's! After delivery, he looked identical to our 31 week scan pictures! The 15 week images looked alienish, but it was awesome to see him!
With the various discounts they offered online, the first was like 75$ and the second was just over 100$, so see what discounts are online too.
Also drink a lot of water in the days leading up to your scan, it will make for better images too.
I was laughing because at our second scan, the tech had just finished filming an Ice Loves Coco episode for Coco's sisters pregnancy. I'd never watched the show before, but it was cool to see the same office and tech that worked with us on TV.

My anatomy scan was at 19 weeks, I was too scared to go too early that it would be wrong! I was in a car accident at 18 weeks and had an U/S to make sure baby was okay but the lady wiouldn't tell me!

Yep! I was too impatient too and I wanted to find out before we left on a trip to visit DH's family. We found out at 16 weeks.

I am SOOO impatient too but we're waiting until 20wks! It's tough because everyone I'm close to did it at 16 weeks. I still have a little over a week to go!

yup..we paid for a 2D one at a 3d/4d clinic. I think it was likee...$50? we didn't mind because our insurance literally covered my entire pregnancy less one $20 co-pay. It was SO worth it! We found out at 15.5/16 weeks.

We paid a small amount ($25) for an early scan (I was already 18w+) but only because we were going out of the country over Father's day with DH's family and wanted to be able to surprise them with the news of what our LO was. They knew our doctor scheduled scan wasn't until the week after we returned (they made us wait until 20 weeks or after) so they were REALLY surprised when we told them LO was a girl!

Yes! I was 16w 5d and that's how I learned S was a girl. it was the only US I had, and I have a great dvd with her on it, and I'm so SO grateful I elected to do it.

Nope but at that point we still weren't sure we were going to find out! We did find out, at about 19 weeks!
