No. We all see the same (female) family practioner. Actually, DH was the first one to see her, and he liked her so much I switched myself and DD over, too.

@Boogs: ditto. It wasn't the #1 reason but it was definitely a consideration that when she gets older she will be more comfortable talking with a female than a male.

no it wasn't a factor for us. we have a male pediatrician for charlie and olive.

I did pick a woman and it wasn't for the girls (although that's nice too), but after delivery with Lala I was so fragile that it was really nice to have a pediatrician who just had a baby too. And she was great. The first thing she asked was "How are you feeling?" At which point I promptly burst into tears!

We go to a big practice and see a bunch of different pediatricians and probably will do the same when we move soon. But when she gets older we'll probably try to find a female dr for her, I think she'll be more likely to be honest.

I had a male pediatrician when I was younger and he was great in so many ways, I looked up to him because he was a really smart and personable but I just said the bare minimum about anything too personal because he was male, it was sooo embarrassing to have to tell him about anything period related at 14 years old so we'll prob go for a female pediatrician once she hits middle school age.

Yes and no. I had a male doctor and it was really awkward when 1) I had a yeast infection so he had to look at my who-ha and 2) He made me watch a puberty video at 13.

The practice we go to now has 4 doctors, only one of them is male. Right now we go to all of them, and love the male doctor. But I like knowing when she gets older she can see the female doctors for the uncomfortable visits.
