Be honest!
I did! I try not to think too hard about it, and D assures me that the nurse whisked it away almost immediately, but I'm pretty sure at that point my MIL had a good view of it too, eep!

Yes, a lot. Oh well, shit happens.
Pooping marshmallows cracked me up though!

This is why I'll only want DH in the room up by my head during the pushing!

I had a c-section so no pooping. However, after they closed me up they pressed really hard on my stomach and I farted really loudly. I was super embarrassed, but I assume that's what they were going for?

Unknown! Eyes were closed and no one opted to discuss it with me.

I asked Dh if I did afterwards and he said no. I didn't really think about it at the time. Don't know if I believe him or not

I only had to push 3 times, a totally of like 5 minutes tops & I didn't have to poop at the time soo nothing came out lol I'm sure if I had pushed longer I would have

Yes... just a little though. Dh makes sure to bring it up every now and then lol!

Yup! I felt it come out (hahahahah) and unfortunately for my friend (who was also my L&D nurse), she had to be the one to wipe it up! I know she's done it tons of times, but I think it would be different wiping your girlfriend's butt... and being nearly elbow deep in your friend, too.

yeah unfortunately. I pooped all throughout my labor too. I went before labor actually started and I thought, "yes! I won't poop on the table!" Then during transition I had to go again and managed to go on the toilet while my DH and doula held me. I'm pretty sure one of them helped me wipe my poopy ass. then I went some more while pushing. ugh!

The thought of this mortified me sooo badly that I made sure to drink veggie smoothies 2+ times a day leading up to birth - keeps me empty! Surely enough, I did not have any problems.
So many props to L&D nurses, SO MANY PROPS!

ok maybe this is a gross question, but for those who did, did you smell it if you didn't realize you did? haha sorry!
grapefruit / 4136 posts
Yup! The nurses never mentioned it whatsoever, I only know bc they changed the bed pad and did a little 'bath'. Very discreet. I loved our nurses and am so sad we won't be at the same hospital for #2
pomegranate / 3438 posts
I don't think I did, I spent almost 2 hours on the toilet before we went to the hospital. I would have been shocked if there had been anything left in me!

@Beyond2: I didn't smell it at all (it was only a small bit) but I also had an oxygen mask off and on and there were all sorts of other medicinal hospital smells in the room.

No I didn't and I was SO afraid of that happening before I gave birth. Little did I know, once the time came and I was laying there in labor, I couldn't have cared less if I pooped! Plus, like others mentioned, its nothing the nurses don't see everyday.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Nope. Only pushed for like 5 minutes bc the OB threatened to cut me if I didn't push him out. Ahh!

No, but I was terrified I would the entire time pushing. When the nurses asked DH to hold one of my legs I was horrified. I swear I didn't push as hard as I could have because of this fear. Next time, DH can hold my hand as planned.

I think I did but I'll never ask b/c I don't really want to know
honeydew / 7811 posts
This was one of my fears about labor (silly, I know) and DH teased me about it ENDLESSLY!
I don't think I did! But I also believe that if I did, and wasn't aware, DH probably is lying to me about it!

I honestly don't know. It was never discidiscussed or mentioned. I will say that I didn't go #2 for like 3 days post so I wouldn't be shocked if I did.

@lovehoneybee: I didn't smell it either (I had a home birth so no medical smells going on) but I swore that I felt it and That i felt them wipe but he says not. I was so out of it at that point though I was just focused on getting that baby out so who knows!!
apricot / 382 posts
Nope, but I'm irrationally nervous that I will with number 2. In the grand scheme of things not a big deal, but it know my DH will tease me if I do!
papaya / 10473 posts
No one ever said anything, but I felt it. Multiple, multiple times. *hangs head in shame*
honeydew / 7444 posts
Yes, but the nurses were really good about it and kept replacing the pads underneath me. I was mortified and kept apologizing profusely. In my defense, i had already been at the hospital for 16 hours!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Nope, but the pitocin, ahem, emptied me out during labor but I could go to the toilet. Worst thing ever by the way.
If you're being induced, i highly recommend an enema before you go....

No idea. I told DH that I didn't want to know if it happened, and we've never addressed the issue.
