If you weren't TG, did you find out the baby's sex without your SO present? And, if so how did you later reveal the sex to your SO?

DH, mom, & MIL all came to the anatomy scan to find out. MIL told FIL and SIL over text before we were even done with the scan. my dad was at work so i simply texted him but i did get to call my sister to break the news!

Yep! DH couldn't make it and he was ok with me going alone.
He has 2 older boys and we had 1 boy together - he said "I'm sure its a boy anyway"
So I go and find out its a GIRL!!!! I went to Gymboree and bought an adorable "Little sister" onesie (couldn't find daddys little girl) and put that in the dryer - then asked DH if he could please fold the laundry for me.
He walked in the kitchen with it and had a HUGE grin on his face - he couldn't believe he was finally having a little girl!

@Mamaof2: Wow how fun! Was he anticipating a reveal from you at some point? My DH wouldn't be able to go about daily tasks like laundry without knowing what I know

@Bao: I told him I would tell him after dinner - he assumed it was a boy since I didn't tell him as soon as he walked in
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Thanks! It was fun!

He couldn't come with me! So I didn't find out there. I had the tech write it down in an envelope. I then took the deal envelope to the local kids store. I picked out a boy and girl outfit and then the store owner peaked inside and wrapped up the right outfit. When he got home from work we opened together and it was a boy! It was he longest wait ever

@Mrs. Champagne: Cute idea!!
We did something similar... I had to go for an unexpected scan at 17 weeks due to bleeding, and I figured they'd be able to tell me the sex at that point. DH couldn't go, and he wanted us to find out together, so they put a card in an envelope for us. I had to go to work, and I left the envelope in the car so I wouldn't be tempted! It was the longest day ever, but we got our favorite take out and finally opened it after dinner- Boy!

@MCD919: fun!! It totally was the longest wait! And a bunch of people knew we were finding out so people kept messaging me all day asking if DH was home yet! He aid he would try to be home early too.. but nope got home just after 5! It was super fun doing it that way though!

Yes, we found out via the MaterniT21 blood test at 13 weeks. The MFM office called and told me the results when I was at work. That afternoon, I picked up some blue "It's a boy!" balloons and had them waiting in the living room when DH got home (I didn't tell him that I got gotten the call until he got home, so he was really surprised).
