So I know some mommies use them and some don't.
Did you use one for your LO?

We had a swing but only put her in it like twice. My daughter was the type of child that much preferred, being on the floor, either flat or laying propped up on her boppy pillow, than being in a bouncy chair or swing.

My daughter is just starting to appreciate the swing but only when she's in a good mood...And only for 10 minutes, max. She's still young, though (almost 12 weeks), so maybe it'll grow on her.

We went so far as to borrow a swing for our son to make sure he liked it before buying one. Of course he loved it and then we bought it and immediately and forever after he hated the swing. Hopefully baby #2 will like it.

Our LO LOVES his swing, sometimes that's the only place he wants to be. As a baby he practically lived it in, it truly has always been his most favorite spot in the house.

charlie slept in the swing a couple of times, but we were always pretty strict about him sleeping in the crib so it wouldn't become a habit. our swing had these rotating lights mobile that he loved so we used it a fair amount even if he didn't sleep in it.
i sold it after he outgrew it because it was so big, for olive i just borrowed one from a friend.

We are careful not to make a habit of it, but there have been a few tough nights when our baby slept in the swing... lifesaver!

We definitely used a swing for my daughter but only for short periods of times. She definitely would fall asleep for short naps in it but we never formally used it for naps or night time.

We started out with a bouncy chair, which he absolutely hated. I don't think he likes laying in that position, and the swing was no different.

Before Claire was born we decided on a bouncy chair over a swing because it was cheaper, but regretted the decision because she never liked the bouncy chair. The swing was a godsend for us, especially during the months when she had colic and it was the only thing that would calm her down for more than 10 minutes at a time. And while she did get a bit dependent on it, we weaned her from it when we sleep-trained at 5 months.

We would have died without a swing. Right now DD is chillin' in our small fold-up battery powered one, and she sleeps about half the night in a large corded one. She loves the movement. We started out with the smaller one, to make sure she liked it before we spent the big bucks on a large one. Luckily we got it on sale. But it's great having both, since I can fold up her little one and take it when we're traveling

We had a swing and may have used it 6 times. He wasn't in love with it. Luckily it was a hammy-down so we didn't spend any money on it.
It could have been that we had it in the foyer (because there was space there) and I usually wasn't in the same room as him.

I have a swing for my son and he loves it. He even falls to sleep in it sometimes.
