Yep. I planned to work until I went into labor. Thankfully, my due date was on the 9th (a Saturday) and I went into labor on Sunday.

My plan was to work right up until I deliver. But a few days before my due date I started having period like cramps that were SUPER unbearable. We decided I would start my leave early and that night I went into labor.
So, 2-3 days early?

I worked up till a week before my due date cause I went into labor a week early. I getting ready to pack my gym bag to go after work when my water broke. Per doctor's orders, the last two weeks I worked from home two days a week to rest my swollen feet.

At my former job, the policy was you were out 10 weeks before your due date. I had to get a managment exception to leave 6 weeks before.

Technically I worked until a week before my due date because I went into labor at 39 weeks.
Originally I was going to stop working 3 weeks before I was due, but I was bored sitting around the house and work needed help, so I kept working mostly from home due to excessive swelling and high blood pressure. I actually told my boss I was done working that Friday, driving was getting just too uncomfortable, but I went into labor the next day

I worked up until 37 weeks. I would have worked longer but I had long commute (2 hours one way). The doctor gave me the no go speech and it was a good thing I listened. I saw my doctor on a Monday and had N the following Friday.

My due date was 6-6, I worked until 6-7 and had J on the 8th. Financially and work wise I didn't have the option.

I worked up until I gave birth which was a day before my EDD! I wanted to maximize my time with LO.

I'll be working until i start contracting in the office or unless my doctor tells me otherwise. Our maternity leave is Short term disability and that doesnt kick in until youre admitted to the hospital other wise we either dont get paid or must use vacation time and due to some unforeseen circumstances i only have about 3 days of vacation time left until jan 2014

I had planned on working up until my due date, but I ended up very sick the last couple of weeks and gave up a week before I was to be induced. I ended up in labor a few days later, so I was glad I took off when I did! I definitely underestimated how hard the last couple of weeks would be on my body.
Edit: my EDD was 7/14, and I went out 7/1, so two weeks before due date, but LO was born 7/4

I planned to work till my EDD, but my water broke 10 days early, about 3 hours after I left the office... so I did work right up until I went into labor, but not to my EDD technically.

I had planned on working until I gave birth, but 40 weeks turned out to be my limit.
My due date was a Saturday and my last day was that Friday. I gave birth 5 days later on a Wednesday.

Yep, I worked up until the day I delivered. My due date was on a Thursday. My boss planned for me to work from home two days before my due date starting on a Tuesday afternoon. I went into labor on Monday night. I had LO on Tuesday morning.

I'm a teacher and my baby is due in September, so I've been off since 28 weeks...a nice luxury!

I worked until my 38th week. I teach and I could barely move at that point.LOL It was hard to walk around the classroom and deal with those kids all day. I went into labor a week later, before my due date.

I planned to work until my due date. I left work early 2 days before my due date because I was having contractions, and decided to just stay out from that point on. D didn't come for another 10 days. Stinker.

I intended to work up until a week before my EDD, but baby came 10 days early.

My company sends people on maternity leave before their due date by policy.
If you are looking for negotiating points for maternity leave, its beneficial to your company for you to have a set leave date (versus whenever you go into labor). This forces a transition plan for your work, ensuring you aren't email colleagues from the delivery room or OR about open projects. It also avoids you going into labor at the office. (Of course this all assumes you don't go into labor extremely early).

I worked until 38+1 day and then she didn't arrive until 41+5. I was very bored.

@Bluebonnet: I am indeed trying to figure out how to negotiate leave. My due date is on a Sunday. I am going to propose a planned last day of work the prior Friday. I know that is cutting it close, but this is my first baby so it's more likely to be late than early.
My company is pretty flexible about working from home, so I am including the following in my proposal: "If commuting takes too much physical toll towards the end of my pregnancy, I may need the flexibility to work from home rather than stop working in advance of my planned last day of work."
It's just a proposal, so we will see how they respond!

4 weeks before my due date. I live in California and that's when you can start receiving short term disability.

I worked up until 37w2d and had vacation leading up to my due date. My water broke that night, I'd been unemployed for like 5 hours.... so much for my few weeks off!

I worked until 38ish weeks, when I was sent directly from my OBs office to L&D for an (unplanned) induction. I was sending emails from my hospital bed trying to wrap things up!
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
I originally planned to stop working at 39 weeks, but my OB had me start maternity leave last Friday (37w) because of swelling/pre-e concerns. If not for the swelling I think I could have easily worked until 39 weeks.

My plan was to work up to my EDD. Turns out I was put on bedrest at 35w2d and induced at 36w0d so... I guess I stopped working more than 4 weeks before my EDD, but not by choice!
