Right now I'm leaning towards a family only party so text and phone notifications!

I love sending and receiving mail. I don't think people do it often enough, and it feels more personal to me. While I didn't have the time to design and print the invitations myself, I did add some special touches (photo of my LO plus lining the envelope) to the packaged birthday invitations I bought. I plan on sending out paper invitations every year.

Paper for as long as I am hosting the bdays (like, when LO is in school... am I going to send a 6 year-old an Evite? No). Prob something cute for the first bday, then just those fill-in ones you get at Target for the school-aged ones.

@HabesBabe: haha good point. I've seen invites where it's actually addressed to the child! Then inside something cute like "you can bring our parents too if you want"
@chopsuey119: ha leave it to you to rhyme simple with pimple!

Paper, for sure. I used etsy this time around and then took it to office max to print on cardstock. Wasn't pricey at all, I will probably send out paper invites for a while. I think they are a good memento to stick in the baby book

Paper. I think I will always do paper if we have a party. If it is just a small gathering, then email.

I did a very personal paper for the first, I took a picture of LO at around 11m (she was smiling and had her arms out like she was giving a hug-just a lucky shot) printed copies at Walgreens then put a label on the back which had the necessary party details; mailed them out in regular business sized envelopes. Everyone loved them..

I made it on word and printed it as 4x 6 photos for almost everyone. I emailed my jpg invite to work friends though.
